How to rent an apartment in Lisbon….the RIGHT way!

Are apartments in Portugal furnished or unfurnished? I was in Portugal the whole month of October exploring the areas to move. I am impressed with Portugal and thinking of applying for the D7 passive income visa. I currently live in the US. It is good to know that you guys have a business finding apartments for new immigrants. Is your service related to Lisbon only or other areas like Porto or the Algarve?

What about shorter term lease like three to six month? In short, is there a minimum duration requirement?

We only work with contracts for one year + but in our experience, it’s not common to find contracts for less than one year.

when you provide tax returns....do they keep them OR just look at them? I'm just concerned about privacy especially if it has social security numbers on them

I was robbed and attacked by the person I rented from in the Algarve. The police do not care. Only use internationally known RE agents: Engel & Völkers, Long and Foster, ReMax, Coldwell Bankers International, etc. I've heard of other foreigners having similar issues.

We're really sorry to hear this. This is not common though. We oversee many rental properties and have never heard of this happening.

Your 375 per month service says we need to prepay 6 months? So that's 7 months? One for you guys and 6 for landlord? Does that give us a room in a shared house or just an address for mail? If not, what happens if SEF goes looking for us? If we find another place when we arrive, is anything refunded? Sorry for questions but website is not clear. Thank you
