How to Repair 2000W Sine Inverter
Today, I bought a broken 2000W inverter from a second hand store. I will show you how to fix it.

The repair steps
-Check the fuse
-Check mosfet - Use a multimeter in diode mode. If a value of ~ 500 between pins D and S is a good mosfet, otherwise, replace the mosfet.
-Check the DC filter capacitor 12 - 24V
-Check the 310V filter capacitor
-Check fast diode
-Check PWM signal from SG3525 or TL494 (about 35Khz)
-Check the H-bridge mosfet (310VDC - 220VAC)
-Check the SPWM module and driver ic.
Replace broken components and test with 12 - 24v power supplies at 1A current. If the fault is still, the 1A current cannot damage the inverter.

Nice video! I've got a Boost 3000 w model B3K inverter. The issue is that if I put a scope on the output, it only has the top have of the modified square wave, not the lower half of the waveform. What's the most common cause of that?

Seems it will fail soon again. I think snubber circuits of dc dc converter are missing and these snubbers of spwm mosfets are not designed correctly. I also doubt it can handle 2kW of power due to thin input cables and only two parallel fuses. With 100A current, fuses will melt.

Beautiful and straight forward repair. I burned a track from the on off switch of a 1500 pure sine wave. I was trying to attach an external switch for a battery generator project. Any way I reattached the track and I only get fault light to come on. No fan or power to the inverter. I did notice heat coming from pwm module ic. Could that be my only remaining issue? Thank you sir. I recieved the mosfet FDA59N30 to replace 8 pcs. This mosfet is the same as the original. I Find laso ti ceramic 250v is burn out so I change . And weeh the inverter works again . Thank you again with out your Channel maybe I might not able to fix my inverter. I have no knowledge about electronics but watching your Channel I was able to do fix it. Keep it up share your knowledge to people like me. How I wish to go back to School but I am retire at 70 yrs old now. I save money cause of your Channel. Bravo

It is better to buy a voltage converter from 24V to 12V (95 percent efficiency). It is cheap, but can handle current only up to 20A. You will find it in the needs for photovoltaics. I would not modify the inverter, because a normal battery supplies 12V, which you will appreciate in various situations. So it is better to have a voltage converter, which you can disable at any time.

ok bro. If you use a classic multimeter. You will see it fluctuate a bit. voltage is about 5.5VAC.

The big toroidal copper coil (2mh) on the output side in combination with the big foil condensator (2,2uf 630V) builds up a low-pass filter. This low-pass filter eliminates the high carrier frequency (mostly 50khz square wave) where the 50Hz sine wave is modulated in. And after that the only thing left will be the 50hz sine wave. It is almost the same working principle like a class-d amplifier. In a normal modified sine wave inverter this low-pass filter doesn't exist.

A common failure of Chinese inverters that someone dared to connect to a load above 1kW. :) In reality, it can supply 900W and even that is at the expense of a very short life. Besides, it really doesn't have a sine wave. It is not good to power the refrigerator or pumps.

If the Chinese inverter weighs about 4 kg, including electronics and packaging, which we neglect, it can provide a real power of about 600W. Due to the high efficiency of toroidal transformers compared to conventional ones, it is possible to take 1.5x higher power from this Chinese product during cooling, ie approx. 900W. Therefore, this inverter is recommended for cars, as it is assumed that the consumption will never exceed 1kW. :)

Anyway this took to long to figure out. For this guy anyway. I found three 30 Amp. Fuzes just like the one's in your car. And it was in the middle of the inverter and the middle was blown. That was the Jupiter 1500 watt from harbor freight.

Most of the commercial inverters use TL494 PWM circuit in both DC boost and H-Bridge section. They use LM324 or LM358 op amp for other funtions like over under battery voltage protection, over load short circuit protection Temperature sensor Fan and led indicators. They are reliable and easy to repair....Please design an inverter using these components..Thanks in advance

I didn't know those transformers core can handle 1000W each, some datasheets show around 500W. Also 4+4 to 32 doesn't seem right for a 220V voltage, it's 1:8, so 24V should give 192V.

Yes, I tested it at 1500W. It worked OK. I think 2000W is peak power in a very short time. 2 pulse transformers have secondary serial to each other.
