I did this replacement without removing the analogue stick cable from the motherboard, which saved me a lot of time. This step is simply not required. You can just *gently* set it aside while swapping the circle pad 🙂

I ripped the camera ribbon cable when I opened it, it was incredibly brittle. It’s not an expensive repair, but just be careful.

BEWARE!!! For me that tab that holds the ribbon cable for the thumb stick popped out entirely and when I tried putting it back in it broke. I tried to jerryrig the connection with tape but it makes the stick go nuts when the device is on. Not sure if conductive glue will help.

Well I tried replacing it and ended up breaking the ribbon cable latch off. Any idea how I can get it fixed?

A mobile phone repair shop will have the tools and skills to do this job

@@backofficeshow ok. I'll try that. But by broke off I mean gone. Could I use some kind of glue for electronics to keep it in place. I am going to try using electric tape to hold it in place first. But if that doesn't work I'll see if a phone place can do something

Definitely not the best guide. At the end when you put the back cover on you completely skipped how to actually put the ribbon back in place. I'm really tired of guides that downplay pretty important steps in the repair process. You have to assume that whoever watching this is a beginner and you have to be incredibly thorough even in the little steps so that anyone could follow properly

Things like that suck dont get me wrong, but thats the beauty of youtube, and everyone having a chance to show their own methods and guides and share information. Its easy to find multiple videos, and hopefully anyone thats a beginner such as myself watches multiple videos for as much information and to get everyones opinion Edit: like for example, something thats slightly important is he points out the volume slider and how to align it properly, thats something i havent seen in some tutorials, and even some tutorials dont show how to re-assemble.

Check the ribbon. Sounds like something isn't reassembled correctly
