I woundn't suggest you let the suspension "compensate with regular air" @5:39 Get the nitrogen refilled. Because regular air contains moisture, and in very cold weather moisture can cause freezing, and freezing in the air suspension system will set off the "Service Air Suspension Immediately" alert and that causes havoc on the air suspension. It wont go up and down until the weather warms up again. Take it from me I had a headache with this air suspension until i learned exactly how it works .

GREAT! I hit the fitting when I replaced the motor mounts last night on my 2013 5.7L. Going to get the fittings, but I also found both of my upper A arms have bushing play, and my compressor seems to be getting louder. LOVE this jeep though, so I decided to get the 2.5" retrofit kit and ditch the air suspension. Probably in the spring. I enjoyed it for 7 years, but would like to run 33" tires all the time.

OH btw, to whoever read this, both sides are connected on same circuit, if one side of your front suspension leaks, both wheels are going down. Same on the back. They are just 2 circuits. From the compresor goes back to the tank then from the tanks coms back to the compresor (where the system that sends the air to the air springs is) and then 2 hoses comes out from it, one for the front and one from the back, They are connected in parallels.

I just started having this issue on the front on my 2014 ram 1500. After seeing this video, I jacked up the front end wiggled the air connections back and forth several times. After driving it around a while, it fixed the problem after being broken for a week. I'm sure the nitrogen has already leaked out of the system, but it seems to be functioning again. The system kept flashing a message that the motor was overheating and it needed to cool down. So hopefully the motor didn't suffer long-term damage.

Good fix for leaking connections. I should add that in fact it is a closed system with nitrogen reservoir under back seat. It can exhaust pressure to atmosphere but does not use outside air to add pressure, but nitrogen from tank. If the reservoir is low on pressure the system will shut down. The fill procedure requires a scan tool (I have WiTECH) to actuate the air valves along with watching the pressures while filling the tank to 175 psi. Then follow with "air mass" tests and ride height calibration. I learned all this on a 2011 that was totally depleted. It was very stubborn performing the reset tests, now I know that the compressor is weak. I believe that the system can compensate for leaks but need a strong compressor to otherwise work properly. In my case there were several fault codes in "ASCM", (C2212,C15A1,C1562) I think this case is much worse than yours with leaks.

I've a got a 2011 Overland. The previous owner had the dealer replace the compressor and fittings on the air shocks at 105k. Only reason I know this is due to the previous owner keeping all service records with it. I bought the jeep at 125k and it seems to be doing the same thing.

Funny I just bought a 2013 GC with Quadralift, Hemi, QD2, anyways I thought I better buy a few of these and sure enough the driver's side is leaking, just changed it. It was from the air line getting stressed by whoever last changed the air filter, pressing down on the line.

You SHOULD worry about air being in they system. Nitrogen doesn't allow water to enter the closed system. Moisture is the cause of failure for many air suspensions. Also, nitrogen molecules are larger than air molecules making it harder for them to leak out. Finally, nitrogen is not affected by temperature changes. When air gets cold the pressure decreases so your suspension filled with air will sag in cold temperatures. This is why Jeep designed and filled the quadra-lift system with nitrogen in the first place; for better, longer lasting performance at a wider range of temperatures. When you fix your leak have the system topped up with nitrogen. Low levels of nitrogen will lead to your system not being able achieve the highest ground clearance.

I'm thinking of replacing my solid and dependable Cayenne S to get another Grand Cherokee, the air lift of the Porsche has been rock solid and she is now 17 years old. One height sensor after kerbing a wheel is all its ever needed. On the whole how reliable has this been as a Jeep and how many issues have you had with your Quadralift? (Years ago my WH/WK CRD was good but not perfect) Is your the Diesel of Petrol unit? (realised I was early to ask - you're has the HEMI) - note you're sounds like a CRD at @ - i'm confused Best wishes from the UK and thanks for a great video.

If you haven't already, keep the Porche. The Grand Cherokee can soak up miles but definitely breaks often.

@@ulrek54321 I still have the 2004/5 Cayenne S, it has the V8 and air suspension and still extremely reliable and capable on dirt roads. It’s capability was like my WK with Quadradrive and Mercedes CRD diesel. The differentials are 4:10 like the Rubicon and the transfer case is 270:1 as opposed to my my WK which was 272:1 Thanks for the info, I really appreciate the thoughts!

I'm having this issue for weeks now on my 2012 JGC Overland Summit. The rear suspension goes all the way lower than the front suspension. Sometimes it takes time to level up. My question is "do these two parts work for both front and rear suspensions or only work for the front suspension? Your quick response will be appreciated.

Check to see if your compressor is working, you should be able to hear it come on and off. If it runs constantly or very often then you might have a big leak. Try spraying all the lines with soapy water

No, only the corner with the leak will drop. The air suspension system has a valve block that prevents the entire suspension from dropping.

Nitrogen is important, as it doesn't let water into the compressor like regular air would. Definitely need that nitrogen. Your compressor will fail.

You could replace the pump assembly for ~1k which makes doing this cheaper than one single visit to the dealership for quadra lift. Even if it means you need to buy a new pump down the road. They don't want your business just based on the massive markup involved in their service prices.
