WE just had a complete roofing remodeling done at a home we are trying to sell in North Carolina. We live in a different state and needed to be well informed of the progress. Drew is the ONLY contractor that I have EVER worked with, who kept in constant contact with us during the entire process and kept us informed all the way! I would recommend him and his crew to anyone because of his integrity. Every time we asked for a picture or drawing of the roof progress, he or a member of his crew complied. At the end of the process, Drew even helped to get the warranty set up for the shingles. We would recommend him to anyone who needs any type of home repair without any reservation whatsoever. THANK YOU Drew and Crew!

A supposedly premier roofing company here in north Florida sent a couple of men out to repair my roof where they had to remove shingles and get down to the sheathing to cut out and replace a 2’ square piece of the deck. I was sick and could not get up on the roof myself and I found out later when the drywall in my ceiling showed damage that the helper had run his circular saw through the shingles and sheathing underneath next to the repair while cutting the piece of new sheathing repair. I had owner come out and he refunded me the money but I wouldn’t let them fix it. I did it myself and when it came time for a new roof I went with his competitor. I was so damn mad.

I was repairing a neighbor's roof in Tucson where the wind had broken a couple of shingles. When I got up on the roof, I found, in the back corner, where someone had "repaired" that back corner. It was horrible. I tore the whole thing up and redid it. Probably a 5' x 5' section. They left some (not all) of the old shingles in place, didn't line the breaks up right, and it just looked like a horrible hack job. I just couldn't leave it. LOL

When I bought my home built in 94) and had some roof damage after a wind storm I had to replace a few 3 tabs. Thank you for your excellent video. We had a tree fall on our roof during a snow/wind storm. We had a restoration company come out and they put a heavy tarp on it. Nailed strips of wood around the perimeter of the tarp to keep it on. We had to wait six months before they could patch it. My question is, may I sent you a photo of the repair they did. I do not think it was done properly, especially after watching your video. All I want to know is would you accept this patch job? Do you think it was done correctly. They told us the tiles that are not lying flat will eventually flatten out with the heat of the Summer. I understand our roof bleached out and that’s why the colors don’t match. That does not bother me. Our roof in nine years old. Thank you for any advice you could give us. The owner of the restoration company here in WA state said he would have them come back out. Awesome video. Do you have any advice for removing shingles installed over "ice and water shield". I can get the bottom half loose(because it's sitting on top of the previous shingle row), but the top half of shingle seems really stuck to the roof/ice&water shield. My understanding is that the I&W shield is only stuck down to the roof and there is no adhesive on the top surface of I&W shield. Is this correct? Because our roof is a 2/12 pitch our entire roof is covered in I&W shield. I'm trying to remove 3 rows of shingles at the roof edge about 6' long to replace some bad plywood at the edge/soffit. Thank you for the video. Where can I get that "snake" nail holder you were using to nail under those shingles.
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair3 жыл бұрын
You can get the snake from Amazon but if you had ice and water shield put on there you’re going to have a hard time getting the shingles off you might as well take a razor knife and cut it at a row that you want to remove two all the way down to the plywood cut the plywood out put some blocking in there and just run new shingles that’s what I would do. Ice and water shield if I use it I put felt paper over the top synthetic. Most people don’t some of it is adhesive on the top if it’s sitting up there long enough that’s what it’s made to do.

One thing I learned from dealing with contractors. They always talk about and show you how WRONG the other guy did it, then when you're not looking they'll cut corners just like the guy they were bad mouthing. It's just a way of boosting their egos. You really need to WATCH them do the entire job. Just because they show you how bad the repair was done earlier doesn't guarantee they won't do shoddy work on their own end. Get a guarantee in WRITING for them to warranty their work. It used to be peoples word was their bond, and a good name was priceless. Not so common today. Watch videos and get educated on how the proper way to repair something, then hold them to that standard.

Hell i hired "a godsend roofing company" to put in a drip edge and they never nailed the stuff in or used any caulking or reattach loose gutters, nothing. Never cut any of tge sections just laid it over too one another and charged 700 for a 800 sq ft 4 corner roof.. no special lines or anglez and stuff blew out the first good rain.. hard to find good people as it is in this world, to be able to find one who specializes in a certain trade is sometimes impossible.. a lot of ignorant greedy fuckers out there and all they do is breed and raise more little evil fuckers to continue the legacy...
