2 years later - thanks for this video!! My 810W started to only print the top half of a label and using a torch I saw a tiny piece of label stuck. A small knife and some tweezers and it works perfectly again!

This would have been really useful content if filmed properly.

Great disassembly video. and highlighting a couple problem areas. My printer is acting like the lid is not shut all the way. It starts to print. Stops and light flashes red. Cleaned it out. Same issue.

we have the same problem. did you figure out what the solution is?
@jamesmitchell3634 Жыл бұрын
@@Dina-rg7xn indeed I did figure it out. I had bought tape off Amazon. And even though it said used for my printer. The holes on the bracket on the right side were not right

@@jamesmitchell3634 thanks for the response. I wish that was the solution to our issue, but because we can test our labels (also from Amazon) on another printer, and the labels work there, that doesn't seem to be our issue.

Do you know your way around this model? Seems very hit and miss...

Definitely not... especially since the left bar can unclip so you can fit a screwdriver head on when the lid folds all the way back. 90% of what he did was unnecessary

Followed this and now can put the thing back together as the top plate is very hard to reattach

Thank you. It should be titled "disassemble a QL810W". I suspected 2 problems that caused the dirty head in your case: 1) low-quality non-brother labels, 2) keep pressing the cut button without feeding it. To clean the head, you can also use the cleaning sheet that came with the printer. Don't spill coffee into it. Yes, I have seen a lot. The only reason you wish to disassemble the printer is to try to sell the parts.
