BIG thanks for this video my friend! Saved me when 11 keys did not work at all after some dufus (me!) spilled coffee into the keyboard! All good now! Someone commented on tip to use a tool in the hole for putting the rubber contact cover “pegs” back into the circuit board- I did not see that until I was done BUT- I used a simple point end round toothpick to gently push them in- worked beautifully! Everyone keep making music- it improves the world!! 🥰

This video really helps.. If something problematic happens to your keyboard.... Normaly casio keyboard has a poor contact ruber.... But their key actions is durable on my opinion compared to yamaha.. Yamaha ruber is more durable compared with casio.. But the action is not durable on my opinion

I repaired my sons keyboard after it was dropped - there were two keys that didn't bounce back up again and your video showed me how to access the area where the problem lay! I found a couple of broken plastic clip thngs, used Gorilla glue to fix back and put it all back together and hey presto! It works like a dream!!!!

If you look closely at the rubber membrane the peg that goes through the circuit board has a small hole in it that you can put a tool into and push the rubber peg through without removing the circuit board. Just a tip for anyone that didn't know.

I didn’t read your comment before but I had the same problem! I came up with the idea to use a toothpick and it worked! (Be careful toothpick can poke a hole to the rubber membranes so I had to cut the edge and use the wider part of the toothpick to stuff it in)

Great video. I wish the video included successfully playing the keys that were "too loud" in the end to show that the repair worked correctly. I think it's possible to do this repair without removing the board that the rubber membrains are on, which would be slightly less risky. Great video for people experiencing this issue or similar. For people who are having a different issue (key not working at all) - May need to clean the contact under the rubber with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip cotton swab or similar. This can happen due to minor spills on the keyboard or something getting in there.

depends on px770. . i have not open the board... try to open just be careful not to damage the ruber and flex wire

I repaired mine ( Casio privia px-a100) just by cleaning under the contact rubber. You can pop it back in properly from the top - they are tiny holes. I used the wider part of a toothpick and stuffed it in the holes. Be careful not to damage the contact rubber - I damaged one hole so I had to cut the edge of the toothpick and use the wider part. Try to stuff it in as gently as possible.

I remain stumped - the 38th key (B flat) sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I took it apart, cleaned the contacts, etc, and same issue. I'm not sure what the grey rubber strip is called, but has two contact points under each key to touch the circuit board when a key is pressed - like two nipples with black material at the contact points (felt or rubber or something) that make contact to the board and make sound. If I tap the connection with another set of contact points from another key the 'dead' note works! So the circuit is working, the issue seems to be with the rubber strip/contact points on that particular key. Thought I had it, but to no avail. Any tips are welcome, I'm out of ideas at the moment..... Thank you!

to get the rubber nipples back into the holes of the contact board I was having a real problem pushing down with my figners (wouldn't work) . I ended up using a sewing needle and gently pushed them back in with the dull side of the needle, worked like a charm.

The cat peed on my keyboard while it was stored away in an attic... It was protected but some went through, nice ! 😕 Some keys were not velocity sensitive anymore. I opened it and cleaned everything with an electronic spray and a dry cloth. Some keys came back, some still have the velocity problem, but mainly the first five keys of the right electronic board (green one) are not playing any sound anymore. Do you think the corrosion killed it ? Thanks

Check the wire flex wire And reconnect... Normaly the problem is on the flex wire connecting to the main computer board

That rubber contact setup is similar to TV/ Video handsets. They get filthy with dust and goo inside from all the handling. I have taken them apart and washed them in soapy water. Let them all dry first. No problems.

I think casio has different models and pins.. If you broke your sustain cable let a regular technician can helf you fix the broken wire and solded it so it will be conected to the board
