Only fix your diff this way if your selling the vehicle then very next day. Only one bearing, no preload measurement, no lube on any of the bearings and a hammer on everything.

differential work not only disassembled, clean then fix. this item is sensitive ...this need complete chk, all parts intended, replaced if necessary. chking gear tooth contact between ring gear and pinion...forward and reverse motion. tanx uuu:

No preload on the pinion bearing. Please read a manual on how to set up a differential. Also at 4.18 you could be damaging the front pinion bearing by hitting it like that.

Never seen a pinion pop out like that with one slam against the ground. These usually have to be pressed out. I couldn't even get my last one out with an air hammer.

He didnt and thats not good , there was no preload all he did was check crown wheel to pinion back lash and pinion to crown wheel contact. No pinion should spin that freely after reassembly. Because it had a collapsible pinion bearing spacer it needs the preload reset if it was a solid spacer he could get away with just re torquing it but it should still be reset to do it correctly. . That was a bodgey kero patch job at best. YUK.
