I had the same Spitfire!! But tip stalled it on it's maiden flight and smashed it up and then they stopped making the Mk1 so never replaced it, nice repair job 👍😄

This is craftsmanship right here I'm over here using foam putty and sand paper and airbrush to make my planes looking like new this guy is doing it easier with balsa hmm and once you fix all those tips that break on the phone playing the ball so they'll never break again except just break off in balsa but you still got templates probably I got the e-flite version of the spitfire with the retrax and everything my retrax bent I still haven't been able to get them perfectly straight they're getting better but it's taking me about a good 3 days to get it straightened out back to perfect and you can still buy spare parts for it thank God I just said I have been just feeling it with putty and then it's airbrushing and it looks back normal brand new but I think I'm just going to order all brand new parts for it and rebuild it from the ground up new fuselage and everything it's going to cost about a hundred bucks but it's a beautiful plane

Hi Dracing, you can use whatever you have to hand and are comfortable getting results with. For me using balsa is just that. Any Spitfire is worth repairing, what beautiful birds, thanks for your comment.

Cliff that was interesting, never thought of using balsa. I always have luck heating smashed foam to return it to pre-smashed shape. Well done Sir, Jeff in LA USA

Interesting question Borimir, I suppose the answer is if it breaks again there'll be a thin piece of foam attached to the epoxy 🤔

Tbh paintwork scared me a bit but considering the effort I have seen at the local flying club at least you won't notice it at first glance. I swear I've seen guys use all sorts of oranges pinks and yellows and insert random color and it just looked like something a clown would fly lol. Liked the wooden repair idea.

Some Spitfire variants were built with clipped wingtips. Of course you’d have to change the paint scheme. A Mk V in a day intruder scheme would be nice.
