brother, i can see the black and red soldered on a capacitor. was that capacitor also shorting or its on a good rail? and how many volts did you set on the dc? and can you do the same on a motherboard circuit to find a faulty capacitor?

I was injected 1.0V in 1.2V power rail to find out short components and I was found a shirt cap, thanks...

Hey man, I would've preferred to do this per DM but apparently KZbin does not have a dm system any more 🤣 I have got an EliteBook 850 G8 of which I took out the bios chip, got the password removed from a dump and flashed that to the chip and tried to solder it back into the same spot, but all the laptop does now is immediately light the led next to the barrel plug (white) when plugging the battery in, and when I hit power caps and num lock blink 6 or 7 times. Does this mean that the chip is not making contact possibly due to misalignment or did I bork up this machine? 😵

according to your case anything could be possible. i hope you save the original bin file before programming the bios chip. atleast you could share the faulty bin and it could be fixed then u try again with an original file. also carefully check that all resistors around the bios chip are okay

@@Laptop_repair_zone I flashed it with an altered version of what I dumped out before. Could it be misaligned like I said before? I haven't flashed anything else because I want to minimize the strain to the pcb and components (seeing how I am using a regular heat gun along with aluminium shielding of several layers) (the alteration to remove bios pw has been done by someone experienced who unlocked many other bioses)

@@kelvinluvonga9992 I currently do not have access to the machine with the dumps and stuff (unrelated laptop charger issues) but once I do I'll upload the 'wrong' bin (even though I suspect that there isn't anything wrong with it)

@laptop_repair_zone i did some closer jnvestigating today, immediately when i plug battery in I get white light which flashes amber/pink 3 times and when pressing power 7x caps lock flashing white..
