Part 1 - 7 minutes of screws out 15 screws. Part 2 - 8 minutes of screws back 15 screws... I think, this video made for spacial type of meditation for engineers.15 mins of looking at screwing screws can helps to complete relaxation after heavy projecting hours & days! Geniusly! This is - what we've all been missing all this time.

A battery would not come out, so I had to disassemble the keyboard. After I had all the screws out, I could not get the top off. This video showed me how to pry apart the two halves of the shell without damage. The battery was corroded to the terminal. I was able to remove the battery connector, pull the battery off, and wash off the corrosion from the connector and gently from the battery compartment with a q-tip, and dry it all😃. My keyboard was built with the circuit board mounted on the bottom of the shell. Therefore, I had to pay special attention to aligning the on/off switch on the top shell with the switch on the circuit board when reassembling the keyboard. I checked the motion of the on/off switch, replaced the batteries, and tested that the keyboard worked before replacing the 15 (!) screws. All worked OK! Thank you, Technicianengtestsolut.

Yap, I just wanted to see why I couldn't pull the cover off, I was wondering if the problem was some hidden screw from the other side (under keys) but nope... Thank you for this, I literally hit my keyboard couple of times (yes I am gamer) and some keys popped out and after that it stopped working completely... So I was wondering if disassembling and reassembling would change anything (since there was no electronical issue) and yes this helped. My keyboard works perfectly again! GG WP Thanks!

He just showed how to open the keyboard. But the setting right is a different one. It may be depending upon the repair.

I hope part 1 showed how to separate the 2 halves since that is my problem (I removed all screws (including the 3 hidden by the rubber rests) but I feel resistance in the middle of the keyboard (model K540). Here's a tip for ya': next time, speed up the screwing part of the video since we all know how to use a screwdriver. But thanks for the detail. FOLLOWUP comment: part 1 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/l17FdoqmZ9Znock) did show you struggling (and succeeding) with the keyboard separation, so thanks for that, I'll keep trying!

ABSOLUTELY NO "REPAIR" in any part of this video! AND the first 5 minutes is excruciating to watch as he struggles to open the keyboard. Completely wrong title to this, should be "How to struggle while opening a keyboard".

Hi hello, hope u can help me: Logitech K270 - Hello My backspace key does not work properly anymore, it is difficult to press down. I need to press it in the exact middle, other wise it does not press down. I have tried to clean it using alcohol although it is not 100 % alcohol, i then tried talcum baby powder, and i tried slicone spray (i used a little of all these things). I especially noticed it was difficult to press backspace when my typing was horrible and i kept on making mistakes - I dont understand it. I would like to confirm if there is a metal support bar underneath the backspace key?

Hello In my case, I cleaned the three membranes that the keyboard has with distilled water and I let it dry for a day My problem was that the keyboard typed random keys and was unusable, after that it worked as normal If you do that and you see that the spacebar doesn't work yet, you should follow the circuit and see if it has a broken line, in that case you can use an old usb cable and a little part of wire, after that you weld the part that is broken with the other and it has to work fine again.

I think that it will be something more difficult for the repair, it means that lost contact, broken kontakt, and welding this parts it´s not easy.. but try to clean again if not help try the find where is not conatct and welding.

There are metal support wires at the back of long keys like space bar and shift keys. Other keys are very easy to remove with tweezers except those. I didn't remove mine when I cleaned them, I just used tweezers to get the dust in between.

Nevermind, just fixed my 8yr old kb that keep on pressing. Dirty membrane is what causing it. I love Logitech devices because they are cheap, ergonomic, and very easy to DiY repair.
