How to repair Television backlight strips. LG 50um6900 black screen repair.

We have an LG LED smart TV model 50UM6900 that has a black screen but the red power light on the front flashes a few times when powered on. Any television that has sound but a black screen, the very first thing you should do is put a flashlight up against the TV screen and see if you can see any type of image or words on the screen.
If you can see an image on the screen with a flashlight then that means in most cases that you have a bad backlight strip.
In this particular LG model we will identify the bad backlight strip and replace the individual LED lights that are bad and causing the television to have a black screen with sound problem.

Great Job indeed, i realize the purpose of this video is mainly to demonstrate this method of backlight repair, but would you agree it's better to change ALL the strips at one time provided they are available and if not then go with this repair option.

yes it's better but sometimes the led strips are not available i fixed one just like this a couple days ago (soldering an LED onto a burnt one)

I buy my LED strips from Ali International extremely good quality and very good price the only negative comment would be the four to five week delay but I can certainly recommend Ali International for quality and price. I have bought many sets of LED Lights and much more and am very happy with all products. 10 out of 10.

Not sure if you can offer advice but I have a 43” TCL tv probably my last one and started having an issue where the screen will blink black then back on every 10 seconds with the sound still going in the background, I can tell it’s actually the Screen completely going out because there’s no backlight when it happens, Turning down the back light brightness stops this from happening, so I’m assuming it’s either an LED going bad or the LED driver board going bad any clue which it could be? Plus it only happens when viewing videos on the TV itself but not when it’s in the menu, I can replace both but I like to save money if possible, thanks for giving me your time if you can and I watched many of your videos and I can’t seem to find this exact problem unless I missed one thanks again if you can if not I understand you’re busy.

Usually takes about 1-2 hours. Takes longer to do the Video because I got to keep stopping to adjust the camera.

@BigDog8882 hey Bro I have the exact same tv. It would come on here and there bug for the most part it’s doing exactly what yours was doing which is no picture but I can hear the speakers are on. I replaced the power board but no picture. Also is the light supposed to be on the r con board when the tv os powered on? Please let me know I’m working on this tv even as I write this. I also have a tv light tester majority of the lights are lighting there 3 maybe 4 that aren’t working

I have a hisense 65r6e3 recently went to power the t.v on and it won't turn on the red led flashes three times I have replaced the power supply board and the main board and still have the same symptoms I was thinking of replacing the tcon board has anybody else had this similar problem that you have solved?

You can adjust the current down to spot leaky or flickering Led's and adjust up for higher current led strips like in Edge-lit led tv's.

Sir I have a hisense 75 inch r7e Ruku. Kinda depressed cause I'm financially strapped. A line flickers horizontally ontop. There's no dead spots and sometimes it goes away if u keep the tv on long enough. I've done all the fancy stuff of trying to trouble shoot. Which one of the boards should I replace? Or could it be a bad led strip of lighting.

I replaced the backlight LEDs from a Samsung edge lit tv, one side was dark. After reassembly, both side left and right now work, but now the problem is that the top half is dimmer than the bottom half. Do you have any suggestions, could I have mixed up or put the diffuser layers in the wrong direction? Appreciate man!
