My dad bought me a series 80 before he passed. I have used it for years until that wire broke. Zebco sent me two of the pieces at no cost, and after watching this video, my reel is back in action. I can’t thank both you and zebco enough 👍

I use those reels for cat fishing as well I have not had that problem yet but it’s nice to know how to fix it if I do, awesome video 👍

Aside from a weak anti reverse, these are solid reels. I've never had to fix the anti reverse spring more than once.

My sons quantum has this issue. But he " fights" snags by jerking HARD on the rod. If you dont do that the reel lasts much much longer. Good rundown. Thanks!

Thank you. My money would be on you having the same problem I was. It costs nothing to do what I showed in this video. Hopefully it will get you back up and running. Thanks for watching!

Just got to Fl with my gear and realized my anti-reverse doesn’t work! Greased and lubed my real last week and must’ve lost the spring! Thanks for showing me I need to buy a reel! LOL

I have an Optix 20 spinning reel. I have took it apart but can't figure out why the anti reverse is'nt working. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
@TheWeekendAngler Жыл бұрын
Without seeing the schematic of that reel I'm at a loss. I haven't messed with the size 20 optix. If it has an anti reverse one way clutch that the handle goes through, those can act screwy when dirty.

Is this the same fix for the okuma Inc 6000?
@TheWeekendAngler2 жыл бұрын
I can't say for sure. I've not had any experience with that reel. However if the anti reverse system is similar, it would probably work.
