You can see Part 2 here:
• How to Repair Your Ble...
Our blender blew up and I was able to repair it with a little ingenuity and money saving mentality. It was an Osterizer blender, but I'm certain they are all similar.
You can fix most things yourself. Too many people throw things out.

My moms blender broke, it's like 28yrs old. Osterizer makes quality stuff, or at least back in the day. Thanks for this, going to open it up and try to bring it back to life!

I like the 'try to fix before buy new' attitude, this is why I came across this ... I have a similar Osterizer blender and while it is still working, it now starts emmitting an electrical burn smell after 30 secs of use ... and from what I have been googling so far, I need to replace the brushes ... and I am still looking for.a video to see if that's something I think I can do by myself (no idea yet where I would get those parts though) ...

Thanks Peter! That's the idea of my channel. Yeah. Everything is built for obsolescence nowadays I'm not sure... you could try begging the manufacturer. Is the blade stiff still? Maybe it's overworking. Are you sure it's a DC motor with brushes?

Shield = fan shroud/duct. You were right, it improves airflow for motor cooling. I think you can buy replacement cutter assemblies. If yours is rusty inside, a seal probably failed. Being pressed in, replacing the cutter may be your only real option. Thanks for the video! :-)

Then i discovered a cut wire going to the motor, after mending the cut wire the switch light wont go on now. Thats where am stuck now, cause everything am thinking of doesn't add cause nothing major was touched

@@michaelbronfman7648 no matter what the project it all depends on what you find and knowing what to look for. I don't know your specifics but I'm guessing it's probably fixable. Look for signs.

IF YOU NEED TO REPLACE BUSHING and/or DRIVE STUD: The square drive stud simply unscrews counterclockwise out of the bushing allowing the plate to come off - I just held the nut securing the fan blade (under the motor) by hand while unscrewing the stud. To remove the bushing, I removed the fan blade and grasped the threaded end over the flat side with plyers while unscrewing the bushing with channel locks. ..not very hard to remove so I didn’t crush the threads too badly! The threads survived to reinstall the fan blade. NOTE: I tried to find an additional “jam nut” to tighten up against the first one to prevent the first nut from unscrewing while removing the bushing. It is 1/4” but uncommon ‘threads per inch’ that neither Lowes nor Ace had (it is NOT 1/4x20 nor 1/4x28) guessing it’s a discontinued 1/4x32 on mine from the 80’s or early 90’s). IF you can order an additional nut with your new parts, you will have the easiest removal - and you could just leave the additional “jam nut” in place...(No reason to remove the fan blade this way) Oh and don’t even try to grab the fan with plyers or it will easily begin to round the flat side off against the bolt when you attemp to unscrew the bushing.

All you need to do is once a week use a baking soda lukewarm water give it spin and it will clean any sticky Residue or just use little cooking oil and water do the same thing will loosen up the blads

Anytime one uses a food blender the blade must be promptly removed and washed thoroughly-food rots and collects in all minute openings and that's almost all the time the problem poor maintenance-wash/rinse strongly blades while spinning w hand every time!

I have a 16 speed Oster where only the button on the left works. I tried freeing up the circuit board to examine it but after taking out all the screws anchoring the board there's still a metal piece preventing the board from completely freeing up. Anyone knows how to deal with this?
