Just a minor correction. The battery Plus symbol needs to be faced down and NOT up. It will not work if the POSITIVE side isn't facing down. It even says that in the owner's manual.

Basics: Key fob Part # = FCC ID#: KR55181044014 Battery: CR 2032 Thanks Michael C! And great video. Notes & Savings: As Danny noted, the part number for your key fob is KR5S180144014 (slight error in dictation/transcript but right in the video title). You can verify your part once you slip out the actual key from the holder (click the toggle lock on the back of the case, and get a light and magnifier). It IS very easy to replace the battery, which as others have noted must go + side down. Start off with a small watch screw driver for all operations and you won't have to use two of them like she did. When prying off the case to access the battery, alternate both notches to make it easier. Oh, and I was able to replace the batteries on both my keys (I have 2) by buying the battery at Target online, which saved me a couple dollars from the in-store price. A CR 2032 two-pack was just $2.89 online (instead of in-store price of almost $6) and I picked up the same day in store, so it was around $1.50 per battery!

THANK YOU! Finally got it. This was sooooo frustrating, even 3 dudes at O'Reilly's couldn't get it open. After you take the metal key out, there are actually 3 plastic pieces that all fit together like a club sandwich from Hades and the only two I could get apart did NOT have the battery.. This finally worked. You have my gratitude.

Video was very nicely done except for the most important detail--the battery instruction was backward. While holding the base of the key fob without a circuit board, the instruction was to insert a new battery with the plus side up. Nope. Plus side up works only if you install the battery in the key fob piece that has a circuit board. Sorry.

Sorry you had some trouble. This key does not have a outer cover/case on it, it sounds like your key has a case that was put on after being purchased.
