Thanks. I had one rod languishing in the garage for a while. Gave me the incentive to fix it for 2019.

You're welcome! Depending on what kind of rod it is (such as something really nice vs this not super great rod I repaired), you can get premium grade components from mudhole.com but I believe all of those will require wrapping them on vs this style you get from the Fuji repair kit.

I recently broke four rod tips-- taking out the boat the mosquitoes were swarming, I put my rods in the back seat of the truck but they were sticking out the window just an inch or two, my passenger rolled up the window to keep the bugs out. Whamo- all broken. So, great timing for this video! Thanks!

Shave the glue stick with a knife and drop the shavings in the guide tube then heat the tube. It gets more glue inside that way without pushing it out when u slide it on

Good point! Didn't think of that, but that is an excellent tip.

I found it informative and helpful! I now know who to bring my poles to when they break lol! I will use this as a reference soon I'm sure.

You can only bring them to me for repair if they're accompanied by a 4-pack of some delicious IPA's!

Bit different video than usual, but since I had to do this repair, I figured I would take the opportunity to show the process. On the surface, it seems a little daunting to do on your own, but it really is incredibly quick and easy to replace a rod tip. Would love to hear feedback on how you felt I did with this.

Great vid man, nice to see this explained for someone who hasn't done it. Also, is "surgical pliers" a thing? Only see them called forceps lol
@ReelNorthernBass5 жыл бұрын
lol it's not really a thing, it's just the way my Dad explained them to me when I was little, and it's a phrase that stuck with me. I have a lot of weird snoov-isms like that.

My rod blank actually broke off at tip I lost the rod tip I made a clean cut on the rod blank and ordered a new rod tip that is a bit larger than the old one to fit the new tip on the rod, do you know if I may have weakened the tip of the rod by cutting the old tip off?

What area of the state do you fish. Im down by exeter and fish the great bay mainly.
@ReelNorthernBass5 жыл бұрын
I do a lot of my fishing either in the southwestern corner near Peterborough area, or up in the lakes region. I'll be spending the next 2-3 weeks on Newfound and Winni actually

Can epoxy be used in place of glue?
@ReelNorthernBass3 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure. I wouldn't try that on a high end rod, but a cheaper one if that's all I had to use I'd give it a go.

Pls tell me the glue name

I don't know what it is unfortunately, it came with the rod tip repair kit

Custom rods use different glue than factory made.. Factory made rods use glues with higher melting point than glues used for rod itself...
