Thank you ! Just used fishing wire and it worked by tieing the wire around the larger cord . Extra hands were needed .

Thanks for doing this video and your car repair ones. Didn't know they sell fiberglass tent pole sections online. My dome tent won't be saggy anymore! New subscriber

Thanks. Am repairing the same tent!

I think it's easier to just take all the cord through, and just tense the last bit. =)

Hi I know this is an old video but do you know the name of the silver part at the end of tent pile please

The hardest part is getting the knot out at the start! How did you do that so quickly?
@TheOriginalMechanic Жыл бұрын
I believe I used a dental pick.

I just found that a coiled corkscrew works perfectly. If you twist it as you insert it, it will grab the knot. And it's something that most campers have to hand 😆

I used a pair of fine pointed tweezers and found it much easier than dental pick to be honest

Went camping the other day, while setting up in the rhe dark i realised both poles had split. I had Gorilla tape on me so used that.

The kits come with stiff long piece of metal to thread the line with.

Hello Original Mechanic. I have had to buy a replacement pole for one of my frame tent sections, fab video and well explained. However I do have a question. If all the pole lengths are the same, can I not just add the replacement pole to the end, rather than replacing the actually location of the one that was split? Or is there a reason why it's done the way you did it? I won't tackle replacing mine just yet, thanks in advance

To slide the bad section out I had to remove a couple of good ones. So no matter what, I had to put three sections back in. But you're right, the replacement could have been installed at the end.

@@TheOriginalMechanic thanks. My split pole is almost all the way down it, after only two uses! So will give it ago. Thanks for your help

Are the poles a standard size or varied? Need to replace one of my own. It's a trespass tent. I emailed them but they don't do spare parts apparently.
@TheOriginalMechanic Жыл бұрын
I don't know about that. I would think if you got a set of standard poles you could string them yourself to whatever length you needed.

Depends on your tent pole size. I got several sizes, none are an exact match and Ozark trail doesn't offer replacements apparently.
