Ok i want to ask, would the tube draw moisture and make your truck run like crap. Is that possible? The guy i got the truck from said it was collecting water there in that neck tube,im thinking if it had a hole in it its possible. He took it out and ran the hose without the tube through the hole he cut in bed now it runs rite dont act like theres any water in it. That makes it hard to put gas in it with a campershell on it. Ima fix it factory but is it possible that it was drawing moisture in that way? It did fix it ,runs good.

@@kevinevans7204 if it had a hole or something where the water could get in. I've never had that problem, but I suppose it could get condensation over time.

@@doggngarage4975 thanks i did find a few holes in the tube. I think that is was getting water in the tube. I fixed it with a new tube and hoses. Now to fix the big hole in the floor of my truckbed.

Would the procedure be similar enough to do to a 98 blazer ls? Mine came loose while driving and I just need to reattatch it just wondering if the general layout is the same

Great video!! Like you said if they're exposed and go out often. One question is there any reason that someone can't use undercoating or even spray on bedliner to protect the metal from rusting out again?
@doggngarage4975
@doggngarage4975 2 жыл бұрын
Best thing to do is clean all the rust off if possible, then use a rust reformer of some sort before the undercoating. I did a video of a little frame work and used Rust Bullet to atleast slow down the rust.

@@doggngarage4975 That's good information that I'm going to use I appreciate that. But I was referring to the new metal parts wouldn't it be wise to protect them before installing so that it could last maybe twice as long?
@doggngarage4975
@doggngarage4975 2 жыл бұрын
@@jameswebb3932 yea, definitely. The fuel filler neck for example only has black paint on it. You could tape off around the collar and the end that inserts into the hose, and spray some undercoating or bed liner on it. That rubbery spray on material will help keep debris from chipping it, leading to rust.

@@doggngarage4975 not a problem at all. I appreciate anyone who makes tutorials that are helpful and throws in extra info. Wish I could post a picture or vid of what I'm looking at. The fuel filler hose is wrapped in electric tape and missing a clamp on the gas tank side. It's saturated in gas after I drive and runs down my rear axle. It's the tube that goes onto the filler hose at the bottom and connects to the tank. Alright, I went door dashing and grabbed it from orileys. Should be good now I hope

Why didn't you remove the rust scale before installing your ground wire? I would also spray the underbody with phosphoric acid and coat it with fluid film to stop all that rust.
