How to: Replace a FUEL PUMP on a 370Z!!!

If your 370z is having issues reading your fuel level, there is a good sign your fuel pump is dangling inside your gas tank.
Do yourself a favor and inspect your car when it stops reading your fuel level, or you may end up stranded on the freeway for over 2.5 hours like me :)
As soon as I identified the issue, I got the ball rolling to replace this oem fuel pump.
I didn't go with the CJM top hat because I got a free fuel pump under warranty from Auto Zone. Big shoutout to Rob!!!
Anyway, I hope this helps some of you, or at least entertains someone!

I'm getting a smell of gas inside of my cars cabin after the install. Especially after filling up. It seems to be coming from the fuel pump area but everything is tight. Any ideas?

My stock / oem FP went out in a strange way/symptoms - it was making like a racing FP buzzing sound for about a month or so... I just thought that's how it would sound after 7 years... Soon the car would have issues starting - almost like something within the pump was shorting - then one day I ended up stranded during work/lunch... $110 Towing bill to the stealership... Think I paid them $800 or so for the FP. Overall - probably smart to just replace the OEM after 6-7 years/60-70,000 miles... BTW: I always kept the tank full - so was unlikely to be that issue..

@@randyfamoso I hate to say it but. I might have to go to the dealer and have a scan done while starting it when it's hot. See if it throws out a code. Try and narrow it down. Thanks anyway.

I saw a video that if your oil heat senser is bad the car will start hard when hot because the bad senser will tell the computer the engine is cold and the gas mixture will be to rich and make it hard to start. Just thought I would let you know incase this happens to you.

I had the same issue about 2 months before my FP went out - turns out - somehow the pump was shorting out - resulting in strange electrical issues. I even took the cables off the battery...while it sat in garage... turns out the FP would leave me stranded.

Found out the problem. The fuel rail was losing pressure. Had some bad injectors. Installed 6 new ones retaught air intakes after cleaning. Runs great and starts right up after sitting hot for a while.

I had to replace my Fuel Pump for the same reason but after I got the Z started my fuel gauge was reading zero for some reason. Did you have any issues after installing the new fuel pump?

I ordered a standered OEM from Auto Zone and it works out. Also fixed the fuel gauge reading zero with just filling the tank full, the computer readjusted.

Driver side is just a fuel gauge. Passenger side is pump and gauge.

Im hoping that its my fuel pump...car is sputtering....no CEL...no codes....brand new air filters....cleaned maf sensors... throttle bodies cleaned.....my car just started hesitating 4 days ago slowly...and boom..just started jerking...stalling out.... put me in limpmode...i can idle fine....but under load.... no bueno...its not a misfire...i hope its a pump..never been chsnged...193k miles
