In his latest video, Rudy walks you through how he replaced what was believed to be a worn-out heater control valve and hose on Project Risky Business, our $4,000 1985 Porsche 928 S3 Barn Find. The key symptom of a worn-out heater control valve on these cars is that the heat remains on even if the dashboard temperature control is turned off. Rudy made the repair using a German-sourced replacement valve and a recommended hose upgrade, both sourced from www.928srus.com

At one point you mentioned pulling it out "under the dryer". The black rubber covered part with large metal tubes going in and out is NOT a dryer, that is your fuel cooler. When the AC compressor is running, this is cooled by freon in order to cool fuel returning to the fuel tank. I was always told that the pipe that you've replace with red silicone was "sacrificial", in that it was supposed to be the weak link if the cooling system ever over pressurized. I guess the folks at 928'sRUS know their stuff....

You can’t go wrong w/Roger’s parts advice. Assuming you checked Fuel pump relay and/or Fuel injector relay for the non idle issue.

Hi David. This time around, I don't believe it's either of those relays. I replaced the gas pedal linkage eccentric and misadjusted the threaded rod that controls the fuel injection to the point it disconnected. The car ran fantastic before that, so I'm 90% certain its something related to that. Stay tuned for a video about it soon!

@@rudysamsel8860 Ok. Hope you track it down easily. I have to remind myself to check “low hanging fruit” first. Usually saves me time if I remember that. Good luck!

Not A/C dryer. Fuel cooler at the firewall. Jubilee clips? Never heard that term for an ordinary hose clamp.

Thanks for the clarification on the fuel cooler! "Jubilee Clip" is the British term for hose claamps. I am gulty of picking that up from watching too many episodes of "Wheeler Dealers."
