I installed heating element without removing the belt, then turned machine on. There was a slight noise almost like drum was making contact. so I turned it off. Should I have taken the belt off?
@servisslimline3 жыл бұрын
no, sounds to me like the elements gone above the bracket meant to hold it in place, simply remove and refit, you'll know when its fitted properly if you wiggle up and down once in, it shouldn't move or sound as if its tapping on anything
@nauxsi3 жыл бұрын
@@servisslimline Thanks. I took it out and placed it back in. This time it worked. I should have manually spun the drum 1st time to make sure there was no contact.

Thanks a lot for this helpful and straight-forward video. I stumbled upon it after my washing machine started tripping off the breaker. I have managed to replace the heater element on my 5 year old Bosch wdu28560gb/02 washer/dryer and no more breaker trip off. You just saved me several days (if not weeks) of down-time and certainly several hundreds of quid to schedule a repair service or maybe buying a new washing machine all together. The last time I checked, this washer+dryer was selling for around £950. However, the heater element + shipping only cost me £43.21. I wouldn't have been able to do it myself without this video. Thanks a lot brother.

Thank you so much, this was brilliant. Didn’t need to replace my heating element, but had something stuck inside the drum - this step-by-step video, helped me remove the element with ease….and I even ended up £20 richer as that was what was causing the obstruction/ noise! 😂 Thanks again!

An excellent video. You pointed out all the possible pitfalls. (My model, however, needed the whole back panel removing rather than an access port, so involved about 12 screws!) Thank you very much.

I have the bosh Maxx, the heater is in the front, so I had to remove the door and the rubber connecting the drum . One suggestion, befor remove the electric plug, use the " Drain" program to empty the machine. Then remove the electric plug out ( very important ,safty first)

Hi, thank you for your video it is very informative. Unfortunately I have already fitted a heating element on my washing maschine and during the first wash the heating element was pushed out of place and the water leaked on the electrical cables leading to the fuses going out. How do I proceed? Should I give it one more shot and tighten the screw a bit more? Or is there a chance that I damaged the gasket (it was quite hard to pull out the heating element). Thanks :)

I think serie 6 Bosch washing machine has the heater in the same location.

I am about to change the element thermostat only, is it worth removing the element and giving it a clean to complete the job ?
@servisslimline4 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to, the best thing you can do is run a descale through the machine on its hottest cycle, it’s much easier and won’t risk damaging the element

@@servisslimline Hi fitted the thermostat and put it on a empty cotton wash at 90 degrees with some Calgon I had. Touched the glass after 20 minutes and it was cold also stopped the wash and opened door and water was cold, expected it to be hot ? Got my multimeter out and tested the element which shows 27/26 ohms on the lowest setting and the thermostat was 6.58 on the 20K ohms setting. Are you able to advise if this is ok and it may be the control unit at fault ? Thanks for any advise.
@servisslimline4 жыл бұрын
@@balrangla5561 if the meter shows the heater is ok, the relay is probably gone on the main board so unfortunately not worth the repair as it needs a complete new one

I have a 12 year old Bosch washer dryer. The water stopped hearing a year ago. Recently I notied that the dryer is taking a very long time to dry laundry. Is there only one hearing element for both water and air, or are there two? I can only find the one online. I replqced the sump motor a few years ago, I might do the heating element too.
@servisslimline Жыл бұрын
The dryer element is at the top of the machine, often some parts aren’t sold separately, you’ll probably have to get a whole new dryer unit

Hi , really informative video . Could you possibly tell me the bosch part number for the heating element or the dimensions . There are so many on Amazon / Ebay that say they fit all bosch machines , but cant imagine there is a generic one . Thanks James
@servisslimline4 жыл бұрын
most of the time as long as you know the wattage of the one thats in your machine, put your model into ebay and if your really unsure then remove the existing one so you can compare with the image online
@jamesbagguley34484 жыл бұрын
@@servisslimline Thanks , its defiantly a 2KW element and the machine looks very similar to yours in the video its a bosch WAQ243GB/09 . Some I've seen online seem to have a much deeper middle loop than others . That may just be the images online . I guess it would be better to go with a deeper centre loop ? Thanks again for your help
@servisslimline4 жыл бұрын
best not to risk it, it may not fit, the bracket usually slots into the centre of the 2 sides
@jamesbagguley34484 жыл бұрын
@@servisslimline I took your advice not to risk it and managed to purchase an original bosch element for that particular model . On the new element the nut is virtually tight down. Do I need to loosen it off and do I need to seperate the rubber seal away slightly ? Many thanks and Happy New Year
@servisslimline4 жыл бұрын
@@jamesbagguley3448 wind the nut to the end of the thread, don’t remove it, the element should slot in as long as you’ve done that, the seal shouldn’t be an issue, if it’s tight then smear a little washing up liquid on it and you should be fine, just make sure the element is being held by the bracket when it goes in
