When replacing a 40-year-old shower head, the removal revealed a straight copper pipe soldered in place. To avoid a major wall demolition, we used the original copper pipe and shower arm (covering the pipe) coupled with a stainless-steel nipple (male, male) 1/2” by 1 1/2” to bridge the gap between the pipe and the new shower head.
