did you use gasket maker / sealer. How is the new gasket holding up. Just like you I smell burning oil and oil level is low, so i need to replace the gasket.

Hello Vik , I did not use any gasket maker. It is holding up great. And no more losing oil, or burning oil smell.

You are right. I saw another video by fel-pro, that said their gasket material does not require any gasket maker. Just a couple of dabs in 2 locations.
