Interesting and informative video on how to remove an antenna mount and what issues we face sometimes ie. potential corrosion that develops underneath these antenna mounts. I suspect on my car the 2015 CMAX hybrid has it as well under my antenna mount not as bad but enough to degrade my medium and long distant am stations i think an ant. coil is inside for AM if any. FM works well with 16-inch replacement antanna. I have been having a difficult time finding information on how to replace antenna mount for my 2015 Ford CMAX 4 door hatchback 2.0 liter engine. I have a feeling it will be a pain in the rear on mine! Thanks! Happy New Year!.

Iv done this 😊. Prior to watching the video , but would be nice if you show us how to get to the back of the radio of a Ford Focus 2007 ghia model as nobody has don’t these videos , and the antenna seems to stop working so I’m wondering how to check the back of the radio . And how to test if the inbuilt radio with a 6 dc stacker In built in the dash stoped working . We ghia models have this type of radio CD player and wood finish

I have a 2006 Ford Focus Station Wagon and things are a bit different. The longer ceiling console which has a sunglass holder and garage door opener holder has 5 screws holding it and they all have to come out so the console will come off and give easy access to the torx mounting screw. There is no cut out for your Torx driver access so the console comes out. I did not need to disconnect the power plugs to the light assembly. To get the bit into the torx screw head I had to get the bit into the socket and then keep frontward pressure on the extender shaft of the rachet set. It seems as though you cannot get the torx driver at 90 degrees straight into the socket but you can and once it is in you can loosen the old base by holding the base and the torx driver simulaneously by embracing the front windshield pillar. Reinsall the ceiling console starting with the light end.

very helpful video. my antenna is in good shape but my radio won't play AM any longer. any ideas or thoughts? Thanks.

Did you use the seal from the older antenna base or did the new one come with a seal?

You don't need to tighten it that much when putting the antenna on the mount, hand tight is just fine it's not going to fall off. overtightening it like that you run the risk of breaking the new mount of the internals in the flexible part of the antenna, either would result in a useless antenna.
