In this video I show you how to replace the driver side axle on a 2005 Volvo s60 2.5t. This process is very similar for both the driver side and the passenger side. This process is also very similar on most vehicles.

Just out of curiosity, how much miles did you had when you change the passenger side and also the driver side? I have a Volvo v60 2.0 Diesel automatic from 2015 with 130.000 Km and when i want for example to go right from the start, "sportish" it has a knock sound... but just at the start.. it not that bad....but it is i sign that i also have to change them, i think...

if it isn't clicking its your wheel balance. tires can move on the rim with hard braking and low tire pressure, there goes your tire balance.

It's not a balancing weight, but a torsional damper, the best thing to do is clean the splines, dry an decrease them and put a bit of locktide to it, because the center bolt is just not strong enough to prevent it from moving in the splines

working alone with a heart condition and cancer making me a bit weak, its easier to put a ratchet strap on the end of the control arm, attach the other end to the other control arm and start winching it down. the strap will hold it down , now lift the strut with a trolley jack under the brake disk and push it inward.
@ckkrons2338

A ratchet strap works better to pull down the control arm in a controlled manner, just pull across to the other side of the car.
