Gotta calibrate the settings before you install the actuator fellas/ladies/thems. 1. Disconnect the battery negative side 2. Mount the hvac door actuator. 3. With the battery neg side disconnected turn the key 🔑 to on without starting and wait 5 minutes. 4. Turn key off and reconnect the neg side battery. 5. Turn key on without starting, wait 5 more minutes. This will set the car into setup mode and then recalibrate the HVAC door settings, otherwise you'll end up busting the actuator. I completed the install yesterday, no more ticking.

thanks for the blender motor location. i have a 03 malibu that wouldn't turn to hot air position. i took off the glove box and the blender motor and turned the valve bolt with vice grips to hot position. Need the heat, winters coming.

You need to tell everyone that there are one of these on both sides. Good luck with the driver side. It's not impossible but far from easy. They are also the exact same part identically.

@@jackog187 if you're talking about drivers side yeah that was a pain but I fixed mine you have to remove lower dash trim and metal plate and disconnect battery aside from skint up fingers and using 5.5,7/32 socket for two screws likely saved 500 to 600 $$ at repair shop mine had heat on passenger side cold on drivers side replaced problem fixed!

I found your site looking for a fix for my neighbors car this may do the trick. Now I have another neighbor that has a Volvo that the compressor is not pumping right it just won't pull down but we are having a hard time finding the compressor my question is could there be a filter some where or is there a drier some where that needs to be change with the compressor?

I replaced the actuator on my 2001 Lesabre as my passenger side was only blowing cold air. With the new actuator installed it doesn't spin to switch from hot to cold. What do I do next? I checked the fuse and when I pull it out the blower stops so I think the fuse is good. What do I do next?

Need to change heat actuator on 1998 Chevy Lumina LS 3.1. Have dual controls for driver and passenger side.cool air comes out on passenger side when on cool, but on driver side it stays hot when it's on cool. Will this same process work on my Lumina?

There is also one on the driver's side if you have dual zone climate control and reaching that one can be more complicated depending on your vehicle.

Driver side switch going bad. Try moving it up and down several times real quick as that my get it working until you get it fixed.

@@1AAuto Ok, so it sounds like it may not be related much to my problem. No, or little AC effect, but lots of heat. Compressor turns on, freon level may be ok. Both heater hoses are plenty hot. What does this car use to shut off the heater core or flow so it can produce just cold air? Does it have some kind of heated coolant shutoff? Thanks

It could be causing the issue.You may want to test the actuator to see if it's working when the heat is turned on.

My driver side temperature works fine, whether I'm wanting it blow out heat or cold air. However, the my passenger side vents blow out the opposite of what the passenger side thermostat is set on (it blows out ice cold air when set on heat, and blows out heat when it's set to blow out AC). Do you think replacing the actuator would resolve this issue, or should I be looking to replace something else, such as the blend door actuator?

+Johnnie Fitzpatrick Hello, Johnnie! By "doors" we mean the actual HVAC doors in your heating/AC system. Sometimes they can be damaged or had worn out felts that do not seal up properly!
