How To Replace Blower Motor Resistor Citroen DS5

If your climate control is not moving any air then it is likely the blower control module that has failed, it is very common on these cars. It's a fairly straightforward job to replace it, but you may want to do some quick diagnosis first. Try to run 12v to the blower motor with it in place, and if it doesn't spin then you will need to remove it and replace the motor/fan unit itself. If the fan does spin you likely only need to replace the resistor control module itself. Corrosion is a good indicator that the module will be damaged as well.

Is the blower positioned the same on all cars? or is it in the passenger footwell on European models? also, when testing the blower at the contact while still in place, is it a simple two pronged plug to connect + with + and minus to an earthed point when testing straight off a12v battery? I no longer have access to the repair manuals to confirm but this stuff is usually reversed depending on LHD or RHD. This video shows a RHD vehicle, so it's a reasonable assumption that it will be flipped on a LHD variant. Yes simply connect 12v to the + - prongs, you'll see which way is the correct polarity when you remove the plug.
