This was actually pretty informative, I'd recommend removing the coolant reservoir n being careful if u have the OG plastic hose instead of rubber, taping the reverse star bit screw to socket to reinstall that aluminum tab made reinstall super easy

After catalytic converters I would check the downstream O2 Sensors. If not those, check if you’re throwing a cat below threshold code indicating a bad cat

If you got an o2 sensor code and changed the o2 sensor and it fixed the problem go run to the store amd play the lottery because o2 sensor codes almost never mean that its a bad o2 sensor its almost always a clogged catalytic converter or various other problems o2 sensors rarely ever stop working usually the code is just a starter point and looking at live data with an obd2 reader will tell you if its still working by looking if the o2 sensor heater is working and looking at the voltage readings they should jump from .1 to .9. If you got a po420 or p0430 its almost 100 percent its not a bad o2 sensor.

technically the N52 inline-6 has two “banks” in the exhaust manifold/cylinder setup. Bank 1: 1, 2 and 3. Bank 2: 4, 5 and 6. I hope this was helpful

Hello my friend, hope you're having a good Sunday, I really hate to bother you this afternoon but I'm in a pickle over here, my 2010 Beamer 328i has been running a little rough lately so i purchase that little gadget called FIXED just to see what's going on , so right after that it gave me a couple of codes: Cylinder 1 misfiring and Oxigen sensor before Catalyc converter as well, so I watched your videos and followed each step and decided to replace both Oxigen sensors, Spark plugs and Ignition coils just to make sure that everything goes ok, once finished i started the car and now is running like crap and now i get this Service engine soon light and is showing Cylinder 1 misfiring again, what did i do wrong or what can I do to figure out what is wrong with it. Can an oxygen sensor be faulty without reporting an DTC? What is the best way to test it, can it be cleaned maybe? I have problems on cold start for a few seconds the idle is rough, and afterward everything is good i would say. All glow plugs are changed and the relay too. The car is E91 LCI 318D 105kw 11/09, it has only 1 oxygen sensor I would say only on the DPF, next to the temperature exhaust sensor and the pipe for pressure sensor. Often times the O2 sensor can be faulty without throwing an engine light. I had this issue before and cleaning it did not help. I'd say get one for cheap and try throwing it in. Also you could check your fuel injectors for any leaks, check the valve cover for any microcracks and see if any oil gaskets are leaking. Any of those could cause cold start hiccups

The ecu on earlier engines will not tell you if the O2 sensors are bad. Only the later ecu's will show the codes.

@3:30... This rather thick bracket has that ground strap attached to it. Then it's only mounted with 2 aluminum tiny E8 screws into the cylinder head 🤦I'm betting this is where electric problems come from.

I would look at what controls cylinder 4,5 and 6. The Bank 2 O2 Sensors control those cylinders as well and could cause a misfire. You could remove the injectors and switch them around and see if the misfire moves

Try unplugging the battery and replugging to reset the system. Only thing I could think of is if you mistakenly got the wrong sensor or if they sent you a defective one

I believe it just works as a heat shield to make your sensor not get corroded on in the future. You don't need to re-install it but it may benefit you in the future

Thank you brother! So yes. Bank 1 has two sensors under the hood, I point them out in my video. The Bank 2 sensors are plugged into the catalytic converters. You don’t have to replace both sensors, just the one that is acting up. What code is your car throwing?

The upstream sensors will be the one I replaced and the one right in front of if. The one I replaced is Bank 2 and the one before that is the Bank 1

FFS. Stop calling upstream sensors or bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensors. They are Air fuel ratio sensors or lambda sensors. They do completely different calculations compared to the actual o2 or oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2. Get your shit right or dont post.
