Thanks very much Justin. A friend had recommended the use of dielectric grease on the spark plug ceramic and the ignition coil boot to reduce moisture/water penetration and for the ignition coil to separate more easily from the spark plug since the heat could fuse them together.

Thank you for this DIY video. Shop wanted $1300 for plugs and coils; seem a tad...much. Followed your video, about 3 hours and $250 for Bosch parts. Good deal! have problem starting after completion: discovered that wire harness(es) had to be pushed into coils until they were flush with coil; attaching them enough for clip on top of coil to fold down didn't provide adequte connection. Cheers!

Good morning guys. I just had a quick question. I have a 2011 BMW 328 xDrive with about a hundred forty Thousand Miles. I recently bought it at a hundred and thirty-five Thousand Miles. Currently I am going to change the spark plugs from NGK to Denso iridium. I would love to hear your thoughts. And also, do you suggest that I change the coil packs as well? It might make sense because the car is it to owner, and I don't really know too much about the history of the car! Any suggestions as far as preventative maintenance because I am a daily Lyft and Uber driver. Can also someone tell me the list of tools that you need to do the job? I didn't see a list on the description.

What do you know about the new BMW manufacturing specification changes the plug support sprue is now centered below the plug and may interfere with some original harness connections which may have off-center cutout. In those cases, the plug sprue on the coil must be CAREFULLY cut back to allow proper harness connection. How would you cut the spree back?

Always use a torque wrench, especially for the spark plugs because they are in a tight, hard to reach spot. If you over torque them or damage the threads, they would be a nightmare to remove.

/ which ignition coils are better bosch or delphi? Also which is the yultimate best?

hey just had a quick question, is it super important to torque the spark plugs? i’ve seen most mechanics just tighten it and it’s been fine plus i don’t know how that would fit for the last spark plugs
@justinbuice2 жыл бұрын
If you over-tighten them, there's a possibility they will break the next time you replace them. If the threaded part gets stuck in the engine, it's a pain in the ass to remove

I have a 2006 BMW 330xi with the magnesium cover and I ordered those Bosch Ignition coils and Double platinum spark plugs but my ignition coils wont click in with the electrical harness I'm frustrated, I read some forums and people say it may be be because the ignition coil has a Male connector or and not a female connector that's causing the coil to spit out the connector. Idk I dont want the hassle of returning them because I dont know which ones to get anymore
