How to replace distributor on OBS C1500

My granddad’s ‘90 Sierra has been sitting since ‘16. Put a fuel pump in and got it running. After a few days of driving, I’ve got a crank no start situation. Replaced everything except the distributor. I’ve been dreading it since I’ve never done it. This video makes it seem not so daunting. Thanks man!

@@SUPSGARAGE makes sense. So, it barely runs, but the wire doesn't have enough slack to turn it far enough to adjust it properly. I'm guessing there are slight differences with the new one and I have to extend the wire. You think the same?

@Mx-no9yb check ur oil pressure sensor on the these trucks the fuel pump gets power from the oil pressure I had mine go bad cuz it was so bad that oil was coming out from the back (where it connects to the harness on thr back of the sensor) cuz my truck to only run for about 10 secs each time I turned it on. Also how did u confirm the fuel pump was bad? n is it a cheap one?

@Hotdizzle the harmonic balancer should have a line on there regardless if it's not colored (if it still has the oem one of course) n it's best to put the distributor were it starts blinking at 0 (most cases that's the sweet spot) if not then slowly turn right or left until the engine sounds it's best brother hope this helps!

@Hotdizzle then it's sounds like you need to put the engine on top dead center first and look for a distributor diagram and have the rotor point at the first spark plug wire for cylinder one (cylinder 1 is the first spark plug on the driver side closes to the radiator) and then try cranking it then.
