Thank you for this video! You tube people like yourself have allowed this lady to do many things on my own, including run a new electrical outlet from an existing one, lay flooring, install a backsplash and much more! Tomorrow I will be going to get some drawer slides to replace those flimsy ones as I will be getting new countertops soon and it will be easier to do this without the countertops on. Thank you and all the other helpful professionals and do it yourselfers out there for taking the time to help us all out!

Excellent video. New subscriber here. I plan on replacing the roller sliders with the ball bearing ones just like you showed. Seems like a much simpler way to line it up with the old rails keeping its place while the new one is fastened. I too have to add the wood shims on the sides of my cabinets. Thanks for the video and the idea. This hobby carpenter is going to give this a try.

Martin - you have a 3/4 inch space between the old slider and the cabinet wall. In my cabinet there is 1/2 inch clearance at the front and 1 inch at the back (the slide is on a slight angle front to back). Would a 1/2 thick board work ok from front to back? Thank you so much for your video!

Is the thickness of the sliders universal? I mangled the right side slider on my desk drawer a few months ago and want to replace it. Doubt I have the luxury of that three-quarter inch that you had to work with so if I can't find sliders of exactly the same thickness I don't think I will be able to do this repair.

+Poring Littlefoot you can get a deal at Menards Bostitch 6 gallon with 2 guns and stapler and the hose for $189 I believe. I have one like this for 5 years already and never had a single problem with it. It's easy to move around and doesn't take too much storage space

how do i fix slides on a dresser? I have two that have broken rails, but it's the ones in the middle of the drawer where there's a long piece of wood. Do you have tutorials for that?
@MartinMinkov6 жыл бұрын
I usually replace them with metal. You can fix wooden ones. There is a lot of videos how too depends on what kind of tools you have you can make them from scratch.
@1933220095 жыл бұрын
Martin, nice job of putting sturdier slides in. But, why didn't you replace the crappy plastic sockets with metal ones? Anytime that you can replace the Chinese plastic junk parts is a good thing. I found metal ones at RVplus.
@richardlug61393 жыл бұрын
I might be wrong, but I do not think he used a socket in the back. Since he screwed the slide to the side of cab
@emelyvillegas35143 жыл бұрын
What size screw was used to attach the 3/4 wood on the sides?
@MartinMinkov3 жыл бұрын
1 inch. But depends on the thickness of the cabinet sides. Make sure the screw us little shorter then the cabinet side and the wood block together
