Thank you I had never heard of these things till I moved up north. These videos have saved me so much time an money. The service fees I was given was ridiculous.

This was super helpful for me. I moved to the desert 2 years ago, but now I know who great Swamp coolers can be. The suggestion to use 8 tubes has made my cooler more effective.

67 year old woman here, who always thinks "manly" jobs are so much more difficult than they are. I procrastinated for a week..then sat down, got your video and felt much better. Thank you for showing everything about putting a new spider on my old swamper- (twins with your swamper haha). I really appreciate the thorough details! WHOOT WHOOT! I had to look at your videos our politics don't coincide but I won't hold that against you.

Thank you soooo much. I’ve maintained my swamp coolers for years without replacing the spiders. I couldn’t clean them out since they wouldn’t come apart, so I wanted to replace, but never knew about doubling up the amt of water. I love it! Also, noticing you have generous holes for the water to come out at the top of the pad. I just have narrow slits up there, and they clog frequently….probably because I still use straw pads. Nothing can match that smell! Anyway, TY, and I’m gonna replace my 3 pipes w 6 asap!

Thank you for making this video and explaining what to do. A lot of the of the other videos that I found before this one mainly covered everything else EXCEPT the water distributor.

Different pumps and pads, and it still felt like there was just enough cool air flowing to survive the temperature. We upgraded to 2 lines 3 sides of the cooler and the output in cold air is a wonderful difference. Thank you very much for this video.

Well, the weathers going to heat up this weekend, so I took off my old spider n replaced it w this universal kit which is awesome. I didn’t quite cute the arms short enough, which makes the sides stick when I replace them, but easy fix. Having double the water is going to be great. Now I’ll see how it feels when it’s 100 degrees plus! Thanks again.

Working alone how do you hold the distributor head underneath while you're screwing the screw on top ? Comprendo.

OK. Commenting on my comments. It’s sure passed the test of additional heat w flying colors. Having two tubes going to each pad is a huge difference. Very even water distribution.

Do you have to secure the tubes to the top or do they hang free?
@bizlarry6 жыл бұрын
Scott Brillon Yeah, I had the same question. They sell clips at home Depot but my cooler doesn't have a place to attach them.
@brillonscott6 жыл бұрын
I got some Command clips-they're for cables but they work, and glued them to the top. Seems, so far to work!

A cooler that already had 6 distributor tubes will have clips to hold the tubes. Home Depot has some cable clamps (SKU #449212) that would work with a small screw into the top. By the way, the distributor kit is a DIAL 4502, also available on ebay and amazon.

Straw pads work much better than synthetic pads.
@Lakimbah Жыл бұрын
Idk about that. I was with you on this, but switched it up last year 4 times between the two and I gotta say the synthetic is better and less mess and risk of clogs

What is the piece name that connects to the assembly (that you said usually dont have to replace)?
@eo57266 жыл бұрын
It's an evaporative cooler distribution assembly or distributor. A spider is another name for them.
