The bumper removed was done for the camera, and stated so within the video! I followed the build and lens ass’y removal steps (LOVED the 10mm trick on the retainers!!!!) Took out the lens and drained about an inch of accumulated water inside. All this while laying on my back or reaching through the wheel well. Thanks for the video. Hit me done right, not just correcting a symptom, but solving the causal problem.

The bulb assembly can be removed WITHOUT removing the bumper using the 10mm tip suggested in the video. There is one clip that cannot be reached with a 10mm socket due to bumper frame support blocking access. For that one, use the closed end of a 10mm wrench. A lot faster and easier.

99% of that is unnecessary. He does state that at some point into the video, but I made a video of the way to do it with no tools, nothing needs to be removed. This video should be edited with a notice at the beginning. Reading through the comments, a lot of people are discouraged and refusing to replace it due to the ridiculousness of this video.

Question, is there a bulb for this fog light or does the entire assembly need to be replaced when the bulb burns out? Thanks
@paulrocco63335 жыл бұрын
There's a bulb in there.
@donnareed38225 жыл бұрын
CreativeMinds99 You have to buy the whole thing. Not just a little bulb
@broller135 жыл бұрын
At the 5 minute mark, the tan part is the back of the bulb. You can pop that out and just replace the bulb and not the entire housing. There's also an access hole underneath. No need to take off the bumper.
@Thegonagle3 жыл бұрын
@@donnareed3822 Sorry, that's absolutely wrong. The bulbs are definitely replaceable. The bulb number is PS24WFF (per your owner's manual) or 5202 (Wagner/Sylvania). It's a 24 watt halogen.

Am I the only person who thinks this is ridiculously complicated? People say that European cars were complicated to work on. I don't see myself ever doing this. And it must be a $500 job at a dealer.

He took the bumper off so you can get a better look at the fog light
@innertube74794 жыл бұрын
There is no need to remove anything on your car to replace these fog lights. You can reach behind the bumper and pull out the bulb and wire. You can easily remove the bulb from the plug outside the bumper and snap it back in. Not sure what is with this ridiculous video.

It seemed like a lot for a fog light made by Ford. Lol...

My lord, my drivers side fog light burnt out but I sure as hell ain’t gonna take half the front end off to change it! This is ridiculous! Why does Ford make it a journey just to change this bulb? I’m just gonna leave it burnt out! Forget all this procedure!
@jamesebbs90213 жыл бұрын
Not necessary, you can literally reach up and pop it out.

Typical manufacturer BS. Couldn't just put in an access door. Pull half the front end off just to replace a bulb. Did the same thing on my Mazda Tribute. What a PITA, especially when the new bulb burns out 3 weeks later.

Ok guys, to replace your fog lights, better buy the body tools we sell, take the whole front end off, and remove your muffler just in case.

WHY?! Why does it need to be so complicated?! 😭 I just need to replace the lens, not the whole unit, but I'm guessing there is no way to do only that. 😥

18FEB2023 - Dad died and left me his 2011. I want brighter lights. I also want the designers and engineers at Ford to suffer immeasurably for the rest of their worthless existence. This is too stupid for words. Uh uh, I ain't doin' it. I've owned two Fords that were given to me and know I realize these people hated me.

One of the worst, if not the worst mechanics videos I have ever seen. This is akin to me having to replace the front seat by first removing the steering wheel, the steering column and the lower retaining wall just to get better access to the seat bolts.
