Hello, I'm watching from Germany and this car is very rare here. But thanks to your instructions I'll be changing my next brakes myself. Thank you and best regards

Nice video, I have done a number of brake jobs, but never on a Subaru. Nice to go into a job eyes wide open. Thanks

Glad you talked about the correct location of wear indicator. On the Impreza and Crosstrek, the repair manual is confusing because it points to a similar location as a brake pad return spring, but this does not apply to these models. On the Outback this is true, but not on the Impreza or Crosstrek. This is actually the wear indicator and not a return spring, and for some reason it's on both pads. If it was a return spring there would be a metal surface on the shims for the spring to to ride on.

When installing the new rotors you don't need to apply any pressure to make sure it level?

When you seat the rotor on the hub (after cleaning the face of the hub that rotor sits on) you shouldn’t need too much pressure to put the rotor flush onto the hub, then using a lug nut temporarily to keep the rotor straight on to the hub, you can then install the caliper completely, and once that’s all on and you take the lug nut back off to install the wheel, you will then tighten the wheel down evenly in a star pattern, which pulls everything straight.

Hey! I just recently replaced my brakes on my 2018 crosstrek, however I’m still getting a ton of squealing from them. A lot of vibration that creating not the wear spring sound but more of a loud high pitched hum. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on it? I’m planning on redoing everything in a couple of days and looking for anything out of the ordinary. Thanks!!
