Hi! Nice video again 👍 Any reason why didn't recommented grease brake pad edges? And another thin why only silicon can Be used those other sliding parts 🤔 Good to have new videos 🤗

Hi there, you need to use silicon paste on the slide pins be course of rubber parts. Most greases will swell up the rubbers. The grease parts is a good one. The article I read I cant find it anymore. So i went to some manufacturers and read true there pages.(ATE, BREMBO, TRW, LUCAS) All of them do recommend using a bit of grease on the ends. I do believe I read it wrong in the article. So my advice: read the instructions of the brand you are going to install.

Just discovered this guy. Stunningly good intro explaining why you MUST check what brake combination your car has, not rely on internet information!!

The multiplied parts combinations are just getting worse and worse unfortunately.

Thanks for the video. I did brakes on my wifes Corsa earlier and just wanted to to brush up a little before I do them on my Combo. I also think it's a good idea to buy new sliding pins - mine were i a bit of a state (one on one side I even had two upper ones).

Great stuff as usual. I'm catching up on some of your older stuff. I like the fact that you don't waste money on lots of Snap on tools, just sensible stuff, like KS Tools and similar. I have a few bits of Snap on, Stahwille etc, but get by just fine with other tools that are very much cheaper, and do the same job. 🔧 🔧 🔧

A good tool doesn't have to be expensive , why spending a lot of money on tools that you almost never use.

Hey, great video! Would you say I can use copper grease where you used ceramic grease? Thanks!

any additional tips for replacing the calipers too while i am replacing pads and discs? i never done any brakes before. and tought having "hard to move" sliding pins is a issue, but seems like on your video even after regreasing and cleaning, the sliders are quite stiff, i have new calipers/pads/discs and sliding pins along with all the greases needed here,
@TheDutchGarage3 ай бұрын
Maybe get yourself some new sliding pins, or try to clean the bore with some sandpaper. Replacing the calipers mean that you need to bleed the brakes!
@rayproductionsbackupchanne38623 ай бұрын
@@TheDutchGarage i already got new sliding pins, they are just a bit tough to move like yours on the video, they might be fine. i used plenty of grease and removed any excess. but yeah i was already planning on replacing fluids with DOT5.1 so i needed a full brake bleed (and clutch) anyways

@@rayproductionsbackupchanne3862 Try to clean the bores with some sand paper. Or take a old slide pin chuck it in a drill and spin it into the bore to clean it up.

If the rims get warm is it because of a stucked cylinder or could it also be like yours that the slider is stucked so the caliper doesn't float as it should? Thanks!
@TheDutchGarage2 жыл бұрын
That's definitely possible, but a bad bearing can also be the isseu. But brakes are more likely.
@tommylarsson20252 жыл бұрын
@@TheDutchGarage Thanks for the answer🙂 I have no play in the wheels, it's steady and no bad sound so it's likely a brake issue. I wonder about the rubber that goes above the sliders. Has it any meaning more than protection? Cheers. Thanks!
@TheDutchGarage2 жыл бұрын
Protection, nothing more.

@@TheDutchGarage Thanks! OK! I will change them anyhow cause they look like shit 😂. And silicone is best for the slider if I get it right?
