Excellent. The plugs are in the same place on my 2008 Yaris D4-D 5 speed. 118k miles. I regret opening the filler before the drain as the oil came out at a tremendous rate! Gearbox is noticeably quieter now oil is changed.

Peter, Thank you VERY much for your excellent video. I have a Haynes Manual and it does not show the drain and fill plugs on my 2009 Matrix manual transmission. Thank you again ... Indiana Dave

I suspect that Haynes used the published user manual as a go by and were too lazy to take the required photos. Talk is cheap but getting the car and either cad sketching the fill point or photographing it professionally costs money. Haynes wants your money for a rubbish product.

How close is this description for Toyota's EC65 6-speed manual transmission in a 2014 Corolla? The fluid is definitely different (takes 75W LV gear oil). But I imagine the bolt positions (and size, 24 mm) are similar?

This is great , the Toyota Owner's manual (NZ /AUS version) is utter rubbish on this matter and does not even show where the filler point is .

Manual says torqe for both fill and drain plug is 29 in-lb

toyota manual for 2003 d4d 2.0 litre says 40Nm torque

I can confirm the 40 Nm. they use aluminum washers, these are crushed somewhat when you tighten them. If you don't apply a new washer you might wanna increase the torque a bit.
