I've owned a 2014 Traverse since it was brand new. I do all my own maintenance - including oil changes. When I first started working on the vehicle, I used to wish a lot of bad things on the person who signed off on the way is designed. Then I realized something: It wasn't just this vehicle. That person probably has a long history of allowing this kind of thing with no regard to the impact it has on hundreds of thousands of other people (There were nearly a MILLION Traverses sold between 2009 and 2017). They are probably the most disliked person at any company they work for. Their family probably doesn't even like them. I kinda feel sorry for them.... until I need to change a light bulb again.

Leave it to GM to make you disassemble the front half of the car to replace the headlights!

Much appreciation for this video! Just changed out both lenses on my 2009 Traverse and save for a couple of broken bolts due to rust, everything went just like your instructions.

Just finished replacement on a 2017 Traverse. Instructions here were right on! We found removing a bolt from the support bar attached to the quarter panel allowed for more room to remove and re-install the headlight. My only challenge now is that the amber light in the headlamp is not working. I hope it's just a loose connection but going to have someone check it out when it gets adjusted. Thank you for the thorough instruction and video. It saved us about $600.

Job can be done from in the fender well. Takes about 10 minutes per light bulb.

This is for replacing the light fixture. Not to replace the bulbs. That’s already a PITA in itself

good lord, I just bought new assemblies to replace on my wife’s ‘12, I didn’t think it was going to take half a day to do it, replacing just the bulbs is a pain as it is already, thanks for the vid

The sad thing is we had a chance as a nation not to bail Chevy out in 2008 and then they wouldn’t have had a chance to design a stupid headlight system like this to begin with. I’ve changed exhaust systems with less effort….

Not for headlight change. Much easier to come in from wheelwell to do that. This is to replace entire light assembly
