How to replace Honda Civic headlight assemblies

In this video I replace the front headlights on my Honda Civic. I show you how to remove the bumper to do the job. My Civic is an 8th generation which covers 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. My factory headlights were yellow and I repaired them a few times. I found the OEDRO headlights on Amazon for a deal and they worked great. These headlights have a clear polycarbonate lens and durable PC housing on the headlight assembly. They look and function like the original headlights and have a vent to prevent moisture. I must say the quality of the OEDRO lights are just like the factory, the fitment was great and I had no issues at all with the installation, they fit perfect and I would highly recommend that anyone replacing front headlights check out OEDRO.

Remove or loosen the inside fender screw next to the light screw that way the fender has play and you can remove the headlights with the brackets

I understand the clips for the bumpers. Had to install some fog lights last week, most wouldn't budge!! All the dirt, grime hardened inside those clips, broke most of them. Anyway, this should've been a good time to do a retrofit projector. Did mine years ago, looks fantastic!

Thanks for the comment, yup that bumper job can be a bear, especially if there is a bunch of dirt in the clips like you had. I broke a few, and you saw there even some missing. When I was putting the bumper on I could see my car was in an accident before as there were a few things out of alignment. Happy Saturday to you :)

Big difference on the headlights. We bought a cleaner for ours because it kept doing like your lights. Shocked me how new they looked.

I cleaned the lights a few times and they kept going back. I would have continued to do this, but I found these on Amazon for like 60 bucks each, so really not much more than cleaning a few times, plus they look great and should last a long time. I love them !!

@@TheMoodyArtistChannel You have to, as once they are yellowed I find they just keep getting yellow fast. I even sanded mine once, and then put UV protectant on, but it didn't help for very long.......

Do the bulbs come with it or do we have to buy it separately?

Bulbs are separate, as some people want the blue light, some halogen etc. They did make a world or difference.

Hey there, no dimmer that I know of for the headlights, just high beam and low beam

Those are 2009-2011 headlights. The 09-11 lights use amber turn signal bulbs and have less amber plastic in the headlight. The 06-08 use clear turn signal bulbs but have more amber in the headlight. You may want to swap in the amber bulbs.

Hey There, I actually did that a few times, I sanded them and put the UV sealer on them. It did work for a bit, but the yellowing came back after a few months. I also tried it on a Lexus, so you do get results with those kits but I find it does not last.

Oh yes, there was a huge difference at night. I was like night and day LOL, but really there was a big difference. Prior to the replacement the headlights were really dim at night.

9005 is low beam, 9006 is high/low???

9005 is the DRL, 9006 is the main headlamp bulb with hi/low beams.

I also use an amber bulb with the 2008 amber turn signal, an 1157NA, which gives a more pleasing color than with white bulbs without the NA designation.
