You’ve convinced me that a PCV valve replacement on my wife’s ‘11 Highlander (2.7 liter) is not a DIY job.

Thank you so much! Great video! This is gonna guide me step by step when I’ll be replacing my PCV valve on my 2010 Toyota Camry 2AR-FE

How’d it go for your PCV replacement? I was hoping to only loosen up the intake and get wiggle room for the valve replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.

4:50 one of those is the PCV valve hose, in case you want to add a catch can

removing windshield wipers to replace an engine gasket. (nevermind the 14 bolts, etc. for removing the cowl, for goodness sake). Gotta love Toyota. Kind of like burying the fuel filter in the gas tank with no access panel from inside on my Rav4. $30 part, hundreds in labor for a fuel filter replacment due to literally dropping the gas tank. Gotta love Toyota. So, what's a common problem on the 07 RAV4? Intake gasket. In fact - there is a newly designed one since the original becomes a source of a vacuum leak with really not that many miles on the car. Want to be frustrated? Buy a late model rav4 and chase a P0171 code. Injectors, check. Gasket, check. PCV, check. Fuel filter and pump, check. MAF, check. O2 sensors, check. Throttle body, check. Gotta love Toyota. Great video by the way. Just frustrating working on this POS.

I waited to long to diagnose the P0420 code and now both front and rear main seals are leaking oil, soooooo I'm wondering if it would be best to pull the engine and do it all

Would this be similar to replacing the intake on the 2007 2.4 L Rav 4?

@@1AAuto great video sir. I see that you were able to get the intake manifold pulled away from the head a few inches so when it comes to gasket replacement I think I'll skip the dismantling of the fuel rail and the cowl and put the new gasket on without pulling it completely out if I can. Thnx for the vid.
@mikeward29223 жыл бұрын
@@Rickie-x2 were you successful in replacing that gasket without removing the cowl? I am shaking my head at having to remove the cowl for an engine gasket. The way they designed these cars, it's a built in money stream for Toyota mechanics, just considering the labor for what should be reasonable maintenance.

I'm working on a 2010 Camry with the same engine and there is a visible oil leak on the driverside that's leaking through the intake. I'm sure it's not coming from the valve cover gasket. Where do you think it may be coming from?
@1AAuto3 жыл бұрын
+Tim Whit We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Toyota definitely doesn't make things easy....wonder if taking off the wiper arms and cowl first would make easier to access...
