Thank you for providing this service. My iPhone 4S died and the Apple Store said it was the charging dock and they can't fix it. Without Apple Care and no upgrade option I would have been forced to buy a new iPhone at full price. I bought the tool kit and charging dock for less than $20 shipped to my door in a matter of days I just finished the repair and my phone is working again. Thank you very much Direct Fix.

So to do this I need the pentalobe screw driver and iPhone 4S Data Connector Charger Port Flex Cable? Do I need the case opener tool or could I just use a flat head screw driver or something else? Also, how difficult is it to put all this stuff back together? I have a 4S. Overall, this seems like a much better alternative than the $200 replacement free Apple offered.

I don't see why you took the mainboard out? it can be done a whole lot quicker by just taking the speaker out..

Hey, sometimes my iPhone can charge but sometimes it can't. When i plug it on my powerbank my powerbank light up for a while showing it detect the phone, but shows no output and my phone won't charge as well. No, sorry. Replacing the charging port won't fix what is wrong with your phone. What has happened to you phone is in the motherboard. Let me guess, you can connect it to power and it comes on with the please connect to ITunes? and dies when you unplug it. There is a video on here for it, but it is a lot harder fix than this. The easiest option would be for you to change out the motherboard and that will fix your charging issue. The problem you had with your is you shorting out what charges your phone by not turning it off immediately and removing the battery and allowing it to dry out for 2-3 days. If you do this when it first happens, you have a better chance of saving your phone without replacing anything. It also helps if you put it into a bag of rice once you remove the battery as the rice will absorb the moisture in the phone. But if you use the phone afterwards without allowing it to dry out, you will short out the charging in the mother board. If you know someone that has broken their IPhone (Must be same model 4 for a 4 or 4s for a 4s) take the mother board out of theirs and put it in yours and it should fix your problem. Hope this helps.

+DirectFix before the install it turned on but it died and need to charge but it didn't want to. After the install it doesn't like read the charger, it doesn't turn on at all.

+Brianninja1321 So based on the original issue the problem could have been the battery or the charge port or the charging circuit on the main board. I would re-check the connections as it sounds like something did not get installed correctly if the charge port is the actual issue.
