Thank you for your educational videos. I'm trying to restore (without destroying) my uncle's old steamer trunk. One of my issues is trying to figure out what it is that makes the sides. The material between the wooden straps looks kind of like a leather "skin". But it's been painted over in spots and damaged in others. Cleaning it without damage has been a challenge.
