This saved me some trouble. Anyway, follow the video carefully where he does the speaker, since there's an itty bitty grill behind it that also will need to be moved over. For those wondering where to get these parts, I got mine at Amazon. The only wrinkle was that there was blue film stuck to the selfie porthole, which might have been a manufacturing artifact. I had to open it up again and peel it off when I found out.

Yeah. You're both a tad slow. When you replace the LCD on this phone, the replacement comes with the whole front frame. He showed us taking off the front frame + LCD, and replacing it with a new front frame. It is possible to replace just the screen, but it is unnecessarily more difficult when the frame + screen replacement is only a couple dollars more.

@@gasbike100mpg The chance of successfully removing an adhered screen from an LCD panel without proper equipment that costs more than $40, or ruining the LCD panel, which also costs more than $40 = LOW. Trust me, I've tried many times on multiple phones. I've only managed to make it work once. You're always better off getting the complete assembly unless you have equipment dedicated to removing screens off LCD panels, and also having the materials and UV light to re-adhere a new screen (and not make it look like complete shit with the glue behind the screen -- which is also difficult)

You left out one very important detail: there's a square rubber grommet in the hole of the frame that the proximity sensor on the motherboard sees through. If you don't remove it with tweezers and transfer it to the new frame, the proximity sensor will not function.

Replacing glass is simple in theory but in reality so much can go wrong. The tools required to do this properly which would minimize the possibility of damaging the tiny components are needed, for real. A heat gun is needed to remove the screen or at least a hair dryer, I just did this tonight for the first time and, well, it's a little harder than you might think. Happy New Year.

price to do this is like 40 bucks cheaper then just buying a phone.. i HIGHLY reccomend just buying a new phone. use lg backup to transfer all your data. and profit.

This is repairs is called "LCD Assembly Replacement w/ Frame". Glass Replacement implies that you'll be separating the glass from the LCD. You should know this! and I would not have wasted my time watching you do something I have already done many times. Get with the program guy...
