Hi great channel, I have had some new brake pads and discs 200 miles in, after 10 mins of driving from cold they start to squeek when pressed, any thoughts on what could be the issue? Thank you

Thank you for your message and for your kind words about my channel. If the mechanic used cheaper quality brake pads and did not apply copper slip grease during the installation, this could be a possible cause of the squeaking noise you are experiencing. Cheaper brake pads may not have the same quality in terms of materials and composition, which could lead to increased friction and noise when braking. Copper slip grease is often used during brake pad installation to reduce vibration and noise by lubricating the contact points between the brake pads and caliper. Without this lubrication, the brake pads may not move smoothly against the caliper, leading to squeaking noises. I would recommend discussing this with your mechanic and asking them to inspect the brake pads to see if they need to be replaced with higher quality pads or if copper slip grease needs to be applied. It's important to address these issues to ensure the safety and performance of your vehicle's braking system. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving the issue with your brakes. Let me know if you have any other questions.
