Thanx great guid just repaired white z5. Worst thing about Sony z series is if the screen gets one crack the digitizer usually stops working same with lg with iPhone and Samsung they mostly work fine with smashed glass

Thanks for making this video. I bought a screen, and I was skeptical if it would be the same as the original but so far it seem s just the same. The screen is vibrant and works perfectly. I followed your guide to the 'T'. The only thing you missed was the screw on the upper left that holds he motherboard down. but aside from that A+ .Thanks. Life saver.

After submerging half of my xperia z5 into my aquarium my screen started to glitch and eventually went black, It took me about 2-3 hours to dissasmble it, dry and then put it back together, everything works fine except a few tiny dead pixel qusters. Thin guitar picks are essential, I used the blade of a swiss knife to untie the screws and used a pair of tweezers to help me out with some bits, but there are optional. Conclusion: 1) I will never again trust sony's "waterproof" feature; 2) This video was of great help; 3) F Sony

The replacement OEM back covers you guys sell don't show the pins for NFC as shown in the video at 5:19.

+CLShortFuse in the video the nfc is attached to the back cover and the pins is just on the nfc not on the back cover,they are sticked by adhesive stickers ,and the back cover we sell is not including the nfc, so there is no nfc pins on the back cover.

I've fixed many things like consoles and the like, using tutorials like these. However with such small components I don't feel confident enough to fix my black Z5 screen which broke last monday :( Good tutorial tho

I would have replaced the thermal compound before putting the motherboard back in the phone. I have applied cooler master thermal paste on my Sony Xperia Z3, and now my phone is significantly cooler and I am able to record 4K videos for up to 10min.

you probobly don't need an answer anymore, but no it is not, I'd use it only if you want to try to make your phone waterproof again and not so much where it is stated in the video, but on the screen and back pannels

Yes, lcd with digitizer are combined. if your touch screen doesn't work, you need to replacement full front screen.

I dissasembled everything correctly and connected all ribbons like they were, but now the screen does not display anything. I can see it light up very little, but the screen stays blank. It powers on and i see the LED and Vibration, how can I fix this?

I did this to my z5, but the screen doesnt show anything. Ita is starting, screen light goes on, but all black. The wiring isnt broken, connections are allright. At the second try, the sony logo appeared and then it slowly went black again. Any ideas?

Battery is okay, nothings punctured or scratched. I guess there is something wrong with the Mainboard... very frustrating because the LCD was very expensive with 180€...

I'm having the same problem too. Every time the phone heats, the screen light turns black but i can feel the phone is still on, and after some time the phone will restart on its own :(

Try to restart your phone, if it still doesn't work, you need to check whether you secure lcd screen flex, finally, it should be something wrong with backlight.

hey dude great video... I just had mine fixed and now it mostly works fine but people can hear themselves when they ring me and the screen presses itself sometimes while it's lay on its back usually when on the phone... it really does press everywhere I have screen pointer on and the whole screen was covered in pointers... any advice would be great I've been to the shop 3 times now and don't trust taking it back.

The shitty thing about Z5 is that even only a SMALL part cracks the WHOLE screen becomes unresponsive. Apparently apple and samsung do not perform like that.. But on the other hand Sony is less likely to crack its screen in general... anyways...

Thats why I don't buy expensive flagship phones. Even if it crashes in case the screen can brake and then you have a lot of fun to replace or you pay much more in service point... There are many good phones which costs twice as less as xperia or even less and even if you break it you can try (without regret) to DIY replace the screen.

Il manque à l’étape du micro de ne surtout pas tirer su la nappe pour retirer le micro car cela casse le micro définitivement si la nappe se détache. D'autre part la vitre est tellement fine que lors du remplacement en la tenant entre deux doigts sur un coin elle s'est fendue et rend le téléphone inutilisable. Kit de mauvaise qualité acheté sur rue du commerce.
