How to replace T3/T25 Steering rack bushes with polyurathane.

This is how I replaced the worn out rubber steering rack bushes with Powerflex polyurathane ones on my bus. I also changed the track rod ends while I was there.

Wonderful job !!! Did you notice better steering after changing the rack bushings ? I had the same problems with the nuts, after 40 years rust.... I like you videos very much, please continue showing your tricks and experience. Best from Belgium.

Hi! Nice video!!! What was the symptoms of bad bushes please? I have a knock when i turn the steering wheel on right, like a big noise. Poc, i checked both front wheels and all looks good, just pass the vehicle inspection with no advisers, i m thinking now maybe can be bushes. Will check that. And i jacked the vehicle front with both wheels in the air and it’s very hard to move the wheels by hand left and right

FYI, those are called tie rod ends not ball joints

Nice job, just a note on the PS Rack bolts, Torque spec is 18 ft lb. Suggest new bolts, as one-time use. T3 Technique sells great bolt kit $4 each.

@@LarcsWorkshop Did you notice any improvement with the new bushings? Also, your rack in not power... correct? My Vanagon Westy is a 1984, different connection at the steering column to rack than yours. What year is your Vanagon?

@@jacklovestravel Buggly is 1982/83, it doesn't have power steering. I changed most of the front end bushes and it did feel a lot more positive after 👍. Cheers Larcs.
