This can be done without removing anything except the caliper and rotor. Just gotta get the axle nut off and push the axle as far back as you can and get a shallow 18mm socket on an extension in there. Clearance is tough and its a tight space, but I did the whole thing in a couple hours without touching any suspension components. Just need to turn the wheels side to side to get the best access.

It's easy to put the dust shield on backwards, at least for me :). Had to disassemble everything again and flip it 180 degrees.

Mine is two-wheel drive I did not have an axle nut. It was actually pretty quick and simple I just took the caliper bracket off and the three bolts holding the wheel hub bearing. I am not a mechanic but I managed to do both sides and change the brake pads in about an hour and a half.
