Why is it important not to touch the lightbulbs with your fingers?
When you touch something with your fingers, you unwillingly deposit a thin layer of grease and dust on the object. When the bulb is lit, the glass becomes extremely hot.
This thin layer of dust and grease is prone to storing more heat at this very spot, thereby weakening the glass and ultimately making it explode.

I like how these videos show the easy side to replace the bulb, it doesn't show you the ridiculously narrow gap you have to negotiate on the other, (lift up air intake pipe for easier access) ...fiddly indeed.

I fully agree. I had to remove the air duct to get anywhere near the bulb. It's utterly ridiculous how hard they make it for their consumers to perform such simple, but essential maintenance!!!

You don't have to remove the "retaining clip" as it is not retaining anything its a base for the lamp, and if you lose it good luck replacing it as my dad found out its pretty impossible to buy anywhere

This video was almost helpful, and almost caused me to break my headlight adjuster by pulling it "firmly towards the inside of the engine compartment". This is not how to remove the adjuster once loosened. You need to disengage the blue ball from the back of the adjuster, which has a horizontal slot in it that accepts the ball. If you just yank it you will break something. And why would you even want to do this as part of the process of changing a bulb?

Why did you remove the headlamp adjustment motor. Does it get in the way of the removal of the plastic cover and the H7 bulb? I removed both bulbs without removing the motor....

Good video except that you showed the RHS side bulb replacements. You removed the beam adjuster in the LHS headlight but then removed the bulb in the RHS unit. I now know that was because the LHS main beam bulb isn't easily accessed like the RHS main beam bulb. You need to remove the air intake pipe but you didn't mention or show this. 3* because of this.

Hmmm. Removing the cover is easy. The video implies that the bulb will twist and come out. It doesn’t. Can’t see properly and the space is not enough to easily work in. No idea what to to do now. Will have to pay a garage to do this. Surely car manufacturers could make changing bulbs easy.

They want you back in the dealership somthey can charge you an hrs labour for a 20 minute job, they in production only have to touch it once the rest is profit for them, they don't care

The bulb was a bastard to twist, but I managed it using tissue paper for grip! It's the black part you need to twist and it needs to twist CLOCKWISE

There is inadequate space for an adult male to insert their hand to fit light bulbs on Nissan cars, as they were designed by dwarves, gnomes, goblins, imps and elfs, who did not allow for the fact that a normal sized human being might have to work on the vehicle at a later stage! Stephen, if you have trouble getting the blown bulbs out, wait until you see the difficulty there is in getting the replacement bulb fitted. I would suggest that you have a girl with a small hand nearby!

@@Eddie-ev9bv Agreed - there's also the risk (as I found to my cost) of sharp metal edges from parts of the engine bay, sllcing bits of flesh off your fingers and thumbs and getting blood everywhere. If multiple bulbs need replacing it might be easier just to take the entire headlight assembly off the front of the car...though I've not checked if that is going to be any easier...but I assume when the vehicle was built the bulbs were already fitted to the headlight assembly...so, they didn't have this hassle.
