I outl a new Elastostart rope on my new MS 250 a week or so ago. It ate up the rope in about a week. I got a new ElastoStart rope for it. However before I put it on the 250 I ran a 3/16” chainsaw file through the hole in the starter cover a few licks to get rid of any burrs or sharp edges that ate up the first rope. I put a new piece of 3mm starter rope in the old handle. I did not have to remove the washers and spring - I just fed the new rope through them. I cut it to 31.5””, the exact measurement for an MS 250 (800mm). Good video.
