This video saved me over $600. I didn't think I could do it myself (with husband's help of course) but this video broke it down and made it simple enough for me to do. The pool guy was going to charge me $600 plus sand. Great job, great video!

A company is charging men 290 Usd for everything including sand. Is this a reasonable price?

This is still a relevant video. We have the Triton 60 and this was a great help for me. Thanks!

Took me almost few hours to remove all the sand from the tank with shopvac with all rounds needed and dumping it to the side, can't imagine how much free time and patience I need to do it with disposable fragile plastic cup 😂 P.S. Thank you for good old school video

Love the Inyo pool videos. Been following the SLAM procedure video and my pool is looking great. Thanks

Thanks for these steps on the Triton... i will say that the manual for the Triton II has a backwash procedure that goes like this: #1. run Backwash mode until water coming out is clear, then turn off, #2. run Rinse mode for 30s, then turn off, #3. open the manual bleeder on #4, run Filter mode, wait for steady stream of water then close the valve (while Filter still running). In this video, you do this bleeder step earlier. Can you confirm it is different order than the usual Backwash procedure or follow that procedure i pasted above?

Very helpful video. I noticed the way you positioned the automatic air vent seems different from what the installation manual calls for. It says: "Be certain the automatic air vent is protruding into the top of the closure as indicated below in Figure 1. Ensure that the automatic air vent is in the center of the filter closure." Does that mean the vent should be positioned up in the closure dome rather than looped back down into the top of the tank like the video shows?
@Inyopools6 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, according to the Triton 2 diagram on our website (goo.gl/JfK5qW), it looks like you may be right. The air relief seems to be up inside the closure dome. You should definitely stick your manual. Thanks for pointing that out and we will most likely make a revised video in the future. :)

It makes sense to me. That is where you want the air to go, even though it would probably end there anyway. Ohhh, this post is really old....lol....like me! Great video b the way!

Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I just changed my sand today, and backwashed the sand for a few minutes. However, my water is noticeably more cloudy now. Does it take a few days for the water to get clear?
@Inyopools8 жыл бұрын
+ruthlessluder Cloudy water is somewhat common after changing your sand. Add a water clarifier, it will lump together the fine particles of the cloud into bigger bits that can be trapped by your filter.

I was replacing the sand in the filter, tried to put the valve back on the lateral to make sure it was lined up and when I went to take it off, it pulled the lateral back up overtop of the sand. 🤦🏽♀️ I tried scooping the sand back around so the lateral assembly could sit flush with the filter, but it went go back down. Any suggestions? Do I have to dump all this back out to get the lateral back flat?
@Inyopools4 ай бұрын
It depends on how much sand is in the filter. If there is just enough to cover the laterals, you can probably fill the tank with more water to make it easier to move around the sand. But most likely, you will need to dump at least a portion of the sand to re-seat the lateral assembly.

Thank you so much for this video. I am a new homeowner with an extremely similar set up as the one used in this video. Do you have any video describing the function, and whats actually happening for each of the options on the multi-port? I only know how and when to use the Filter (obviously) and Drain options.

Hi when I turn the nob on my pressure relief valve nothing happens....pressure gauge doesn't budge. No water comes out...no hissing...nothing
@Inyopools Жыл бұрын
The pressure relief could be clogged with dirt or grime, preventing air from passing through.

How to get the water out of the pump?
@Inyopools2 жыл бұрын
If it's an inground pool, most of the water should drain from the pump once you remove the lid on the filter. Removing the lid on the pump will have a similar result. You can also remove the drain plug from the pump to drain the strainer.
