Video transcript:
Hello everyone in this video I will
explain to you how to change the screen
of your Ledger Nano S in two minutes.
It is worth knowing that over time,
the screens of Ledger Nano S
tend to become darker
and eventually completely
unreadable.
This is currently happening with my key,
since as you can see,
when I plug it in and press all the buttons,
nothing is visible on the screen.
I will explain to you how to replace
the screen of your Ledger Nano S
in two minutes and in a simple way.
To do this, you will need several things.
First, a Ledger key, obviously
second, a cutter,
third, a credit card,
preferably one that you no longer
use because it may suffer
during the process.
And finally, a replacement screen
for your Ledger key.
You will find a link below this video
indicating where you can get
this replacement screen for just
a few dollars.
The first step, if your key has one,
is to removethe lanyard or cord,
I don't know what it's called,
as well as the ring attached to your key.
Also remove the pivoting metal cover.
Then the goal is to insert
the sharp side of the blade of the cutter
into the small space
at the back of the key, at the level
of the case cover.
It is important to start
this operation on the side where there is
the hole where the ring was just before.
Why? Because this part is
devoid of electronic circuits,
so if you push your cutter
a little too hard,
it will avoid damaging the key.
So as I was saying, the goal is
to insert the blade of the cutter
into this small space
at the back of the key and, using a lever,
to widen this space,
which will allow you to insert
the corner of the credit card.
You can then, once the corner
of the credit card is inserted,
slide it along the cover to detach
the cover from the key case.
Well, here it is, your Ledger key
is now open.
All you have to do is replace
the screen and close the case.
The electronic part of the key
is simply placed in the case,
there are no screws,
so it is extremely easy to remove.
You now need to detach the screen
from the electronic circuit.
To do this, you need to lift the
small black bar that you see here.
You can do this simply with your fingers.
I don't have nails but I manage perfectly well.
You can use a plastic rod
if you want, but don'use metal objects
like screwdrivers, avoid them.
Then simply pull on the ribbon,
it should come without resistance
if you have properly lifted up the small bar.
Then replace this screen with the new one
by simply inserting the ribbon
and lowering the small lever or the
small black bar.
Before putting the electronic part back
in the case, I recommend
trying your Ledger to see
if the screen displays correctly.
As you can see,
it works perfectly,
it's magnificent. It even looks like
the new screen is brighter
than the previous one
at the time of purchase of the Ledger.
So here you are, you can
now put the electronic part
back in the case.
Then put the case cover back on
by simply pressing it with your fingers.
Well there you have it, you have a
brand new Ledger key that works,
maybe even better than
when it was purchased.
Thank you all and see you in
